I am looking to develop a bunch of my domain names.

I figured it was worth finding out... Are there any hosting plans that allow you to host multiple websites within one plan?

Not just add-on domains... But hosting plans that actually allow you to host multiple seperate websites.

Thanks in advance.

Plenty of. How many web sites do you own and need to be hosted?
Anyway addon and multyply by the highest standarts is the same.

what's the difference between add-on domains and hosting multiple websites?

i always thought that an add-on allows you to host another website, all within the same plan... :?

But you won't have a separate control panel or login details for the addon domains. It won't be an issue if you are managing all the accounts, but if you need to give access for a domain to some one, it won't be possible with Addon domains.

There are a ton of web hosts that do this. How many web sites are you wanting to host in one account? And how much space do you think you will be using?

What's wrong with add-on domains? They get their own site root you can install any scripts into, their own email addresses, their own ftp accounts, their own webstats e.t.c

I've compiled a list of hosts which have unlimited add-on domains here:
www.unlimitednamehosting.com

If you want totally seperate domain accounts, you can get a reseller account and set them all up.

oh i see... so mainly to allow others access to only specific websites instead of all of them.

Yeah, that is a main reason. You won't have a separate control panel for addon domains. But if you are managing all domains, addons will do the trick.

most hosts have addon domains on their plans now. shouldn't have a problem finding one that suits your needs.

Lunarpages.com, Site5.com Webhostingbuzz.com allows to host multiple websites under one account.
Need to host more than one website but don't want to buy multiple plans? Their budget hosting plans come with 'addon' domain names, allowing to host multiple sites from one account.
