After hearing of today's three-letter name sale for $33k - I immediately started to think the following:
1. Where's that 3-letter list I made?
2. How many interesting three-letter names do I already own?
3. Why would anyone want to spend $33k on a name!!!
4. How can I get my share of the 17576 possible 3-letter names before everyone else (only joking)
5. Are we REALLY at the stage where 3-letter names are in demand, like happened to .com's years ago?
..but then I wondered something else. If this sale affects the demand in 3-letter names, what on earth will it do to 2-letter ones?
While there are 17576 three-letter names, the finite number of two-letter names is just 676 - and the majority of those are held back by the registrars.
Are two-letter names now the new chase-me item?
