The .MP Showcase and Discussion Thread

This extension appears to be gaining in momentum as they have this great Chi.mp program out where you can actually get a free domain with a chi.mp code which some NPers are graciously handing out, granted you have to use it under chi.mp but you get the option to switch it to a paid domain for only $20 a year and you can change the name servers (or get.mp for a paid domain). The reason I say "only" is because there are extremely premium names still available if you search.

I see that they branded .mp as marketplace when it first started which I think fits perfectly. With this new program, which I think started last year and is in beta, this entension appears to be getting very popular with members being allocated free codes to give to friends and family. Every time I look, more and more members. Who wouldn't want a free domain. I picked up a free domain and some premium paid domains.

Could I get some thoughts on this extension? Free domains /$20 paid domains makes this seem like a winner.

I'm tempted to switch to paid, I really like the idea and It'd be great to have samuel.mp pointing to my site I signed up about 6 months ago.

I have tried Chi.mp earlier. The platform and service doesn't make sense to me.

In some countries MP is common for Member Parliament. I could see some good use for this extension besides the free chi.mp thing.

I think this chi.mp thing might get this extension noticed. I reg'd a few very nice ones at get.mp. hybridcars , workfromhome to name a couple. I hope it catches on mainstream. I like the .mp standing for marketplace (common meaning)

However 2 of my names got removed because they said 'they forgot' they were reserved in their premium list.

I still have my first name, and 2 other words that would bring in 7 figures in the .com its a fun service though.

I like the fact that you can buy a name from .mp. Also, MP is great in terms of acronyms -- multiplayer and marketplace come to mind immediately.

Invite is best. There are NPers here that have some. Search chi.mp or .mp code and you might be able to find one.

I bought Gaming.mp (MultiPlayer gaming). One of the few I'll buy in this extension, but it's cool to get in early. :hehe:

Decided to go for it and picked up entrepreneur.mp

I could see .mp meaning market place or meeting place/meeting point etc..

I got TRADING.MP

I also have onlinetrading.tv which I'm planning to develop, so hoping I can link the two and create some synergy. Now to play with Chi.mp and see what can be done!
