Applies to all investing: You need to have enough cash on hand. Then you can take advantage of buying opportunities instead of concentrating on selling. I've learned that surprisingly many domainers are Desperate Sellers (asset liquidators) because they are "cash poor".

It's roughly a 10 to 20 year lottery ticket purchase. The letters are drawn everyday but no matter how good your collection of letters are they'll still only be drawn, on average, once in a generation.

obviously you can multiply your chances of a win by holding many lottery tickets or even sell them on to fellow lottery ticket holders. Some outlets produce more winning tickets than average but you'll pay a big premium to get to the front of those queues
