To be honest, I found the thread that contained various statistics regarding short domains buyout. Then again, I got various tips on using the GAKT and using expired domains search. Also help on GoDaddy auctions, and trademarks.

So all-in-all, tips are everywhere on NP. Filtering them will be hard, but it would help a bunch.

I got caught using estibot/valuate and bought some names based on their estimate of a names value. (embarrassing!) Thank goodness for the advice found here or I may have spent waaaay more money!

I always recommend reading www.namenewbie.com from cover-to-cover. It's good for the basics and as a refresher course.
