Well, you will all be glad to know that considering the comments I received from my previous posting about this domain name being for sale, and it's connection to Simon Cowell's Production Company and the cattle management software company, I went ahead and did a trademark and patent search, and it is not registered in the US. (Whew!) I did read up on another message board about a cattle rancher looking for a domain name like this one, but, as usual.... no one answered.

Anyway, it is still for sale and shold be no issue with infringements! %%-

You dont seem to understand the trademark system, it might not be registered in the US but that in no way makes it safe. Someone with the funds to back them up (aka Simon cowell in the UK) will easily take the rights to such a domain if he wants it, if what you said in your last post was true I suspect it to be a UK trademark. Your logic is pretty stupid, just because a company isnt trademarked in the US doesnt mean it doesnt have a right to a domain name. Superiority Complex again.

You know, I guess that when I first posted here I was under the misunderstanding that there were actually people as members here that would offer advice, not just be sarcastic jerks that think that they know everything. There are people out there like myself that do not know all the details as we do not sit in front of a computer all day. Instead of criticising so much, is it possible that you could try to maybe offer some "advice" instead of arrogant comments like yours. I am not in the business of selling domain names, it was just something that caught my interest a little bit.... so far it obviously doesn't seem to be working out so well (hahahaha) but I really would appreciate it if you would share your "wealth of knowledge" since you seem to know it all, instead of being so unhelpful and rude.

We are all adults here right??????

Now, if anyone has anything that makes a difference, feel free to post...otherwise I think you have made your point that I am obviously not an expert..... Thanks for the input though..(NOT) :p

Excuse my comments but its just there are a lot of people out there who think they can register any domain simply because they have the internet. I will *advise* you to look into the age of simon cowells company and dependant on when you registered the domain name you may be able to keep ahold of it and hopefully earn from the traffic it generates.

I would advise you to put something on there so any future copyright/trademark complications (an example site could sell.. phone sim cards?) will withstand more than a glance from ICANN. If you want to risk it and possibly come out with a short term profit rather than a loss you could try and sell it directly to them, this is a risky business though because if they know you intentionally registered the domain with this idea you wont stand a chance in court. Alternatively you could wash your hands of it altogether and ask your registrar to cancel the domain (or contact simon cowells company and give it to them).

In all honesty, edit your threads to "Sim <junk> Cow <dotme> c;o;m" or similar. We can still know what you mean, w/o letting the whole world be able to search for the domain name and find you discussing it. Otherwise, they <the folks you were worried about> have ready-made evidence about the situation.
