Special Price appears to be gone from what I can see as well. I guess they've raised it under the guise that transfers initiated now will likely clear on or after October 15.

"You can save money by registering and transferring your names now, and in an effort to facilitate this, Moniker is offering a reduction in the registration and transfer of .com and .net domain names to the prices of $6.85 for .COMs and $5.00 for .NETs! This offer is only going to be in effect until October 10th"

to be exact, it is til October 10th 2200 hrs EST.

Is your normal price $6.95? It's only a dime. :)

false advertising as it is still "october 10th" in EST

Rather than prematurely conclude false advertising or what not, why not try
to resolve the issue with Moniker first? Or are some of you so eager beaver
about the whole thing?

If you did but no answer yet, then PM mcahn.

I know why Moniker raise'd their transfer fee before all other fees now.

All pending transfers that dragg'ed across the "cut-off date" will incurr'ed extra cost to Moniker when the transfers get completed on the new price period.

Take a look at "some" other registrar's policy (which cause more hassles, I presume):

-All the Pending gTLD Transfer Orders (i.e. orders that haven't yet been executed) throughout your Reseller Chain will be canceled by the system on 12th October, 2007. These orders can be placed again by you / your Customers from 13th October onwards.

-Also, the Transfer Orders that are currently in status 'Awaiting Admin Contact approval' will also be canceled by the system. These again, can be placed by you / your Customers from 13th October onwards.

what say you? :(

Moniker is one of my 2 favorite registars. They and eNom are the best IMO.
But right now, and until the 14th, at eNOM its back to my normal ETP pricing of $6.95 for transfers. It was $6.75 until the 10th.
at eNOM, the transfer price will remain fixed until the 14th.
Registrars pay the registry at the time of the initiation of the transfer, so there is no reason to raise the price until after the 14th.
