hi all,

I've just received the special pricing setup on my moniker account.
I currently have majority of my domains in enom and stargate. (I have good pricing too with those 2 registrars).
My question is :

1. in the e-mail moniker sent me, it says
4. You can use a credit or debit card for amounts under $500 and I will
adjust the price to $7.25 per standard domain.

does this mean, if I fund my account below $500, they will raise my pricing from $6.95 to $7.25? anybody have namepros special moniker account here, that can confirm this? Is it worth it to fund my account $500, and move some of my domains to moniker from enom or stargate ?

2. I heard about transferring out from moniker could be a hassle, is it true?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think once it is adjusted - it will stay like that.

:hi:

Moniker now accepts Paypal so you could use that.

Moniker adds a 4% surcharge.

I just did it last night with a single domain.

If you choose this method just make sure the domain pricing is accurate
before you approve the PayPal payment.

ok, I have fund the account but it still not showing up in my account balance? How long does it takes, btw?

You shouldn't need to fund your account at all and the pricing should be $6.95.

Why does this always happen? I never got this message when I asked for the NP pricing.

It is nearly immediate, BUT you need to log out and then immediately log in again for the new balance to show up. Moniker does have some quirks like that.

moniker, not totally trustful. use godaddy coupons(http://www.dealtaker.com/GoDaddy-coupon-code-a528-c.html) and you could buy dotcoms domains for 6.95$

or you can use domainsite.com/name.com for $6.99 without any coupon and be sure you are using a much more reliable registrar than GoMammy
name.com (the sister company of domainsite) has $5.99 the transfer fee so you can register the first year at domainsite and then move to name.com

( For GoMammy see : www.nodaddy.com for some info for this reputable and "reliable" registrar )

They have good services IMHO, however I do think they're deceiptful in their advert threads. They make it seem like it's "Special pricing for being a NamePro member" (or DNF member, if you go there), however you only get to keep this 'special' pricing if you fund your account (although they don't tell you until AFTER they've adjusted your account).

Not too nice behaviour from a business, IMHO?

I also use Moniker as one of my registrars. Their advert is definitely confusing... although mentioning np or dnf is supposed to get you that discounted price without the $500 deposit requirement (as was the case when I signed up)...

FWIW, I rcvd the 'forum member pricing' (don't recall if it was np or dnf at the time) within a couple of days of my email, no deposit was ever required. I now have upwards of 200 names @Moniker with no complaints.

Still can't believe that Boberoo didn't pick that one up? If you do domains, you might as well get the obvious "hate-sites" up front, no? ;)
