Monetizing blogs

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone on here has had success monetizing blogs. I was thinking about setting up a blog through blogger and pointing it to a domain name and then putting adsense on the blog. Would using blogger be the best option or are there other programs people prefer to use instead? Also, if anyone has examples of successful monetized blogs that they could share I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to start this blog ASAP but I want to make sure I start it correctly and don't have to try to transfer it over to another service later on or cause myself unnecessary headaches. If there are articles or sites with advice on monetizing blogs out there I'd also appreciate if you could share those.

[Domain Name Newbie]

I'm a Wordpress user. So far, I'm quite happy with it. There will be abit of headaches at first (trying to learn the features & function) but they have a good support site. I've been using my own domain name as a blog for 2 months now and so far I haven't successful monetized my blog even with adsense. Anyway, as they say, content is king. So, nowadays I tried to post good content in order to get more traffic (and hopefully my first cheque from adsense :p)

Hmm.. I too was considering of putting some time into a blog. But can it really make more money than a site?
At least, when you make a site you mustn't update his content as often as a blog. This of course, depending on the type of site you have.
