This thread is about only Happy Moments that .mobi has done for you!

I will start.

I love .mobi, every day it keeps my mind off my day job, and thinking to the future with my names! Especialy my Rxd (Dot) mobi name which I plan on expanding the near future to other countries so people can get there meds, when needed.

By the way I regged RxD (Dot) mobi, not only because it was avialbe at the time but also because, I have a disabled little brother and when we travel with him, we need to know where pharmacies are just incase his medication is lost! Infact we have to travel with emergency meds just incase!

And thats what .mobi has done for me right now, to know that something out there will benfit another person on the go!

Now with the new plane laws where people are limited to there carry on's Rxd may help out some people eventualy...

No greater feeling than the ability to help others -- other than perhaps the ability to help others and be well rewarded for it :) In my case, I've watched an overwhelming majority of my relatives die from heart disease, cancer, complications resulting from diabetes or suffer life altering changes due to strokes. Living through all this, I've wanted to make a difference in other people lives the best way that I know how -- keeping them healthy.

Everyone should know that chocolate may be more than tasty junk food... That a glass of red wine from time to time is more than empty calories... That pizza is more than a high fat snack...

The last time I was in my local Safeway (grocery store chain), they were playing an advertisement about how prostate cancer is not fatal in 95% of cases if detected early -- I didn't know that and I'm sure many others didn't. And to think it's the number 1 cancer killer of men. I've been reading about anti-dementia and anti-Alzheimer's drugs lately... Seems that taking them before you actually develop such a life altering condition further mitigates the risk. And why doesn't your average senior have access to this information?

Cheers :) I hope I'm getting you some visits to RxD.mobi -- our sites really go well together! It's a part time project for me at the moment, so it is unfortunately going to take awhile to finish it all up. Ideally, I'd like to have information on fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, spices -- pretty much a healthy eating guide to everything healthy. It's amazing how much one can improve their health just by eating well, exercising, going to the doctor for regular checkups, and listening to the advice he gives them! My old man had very high cholesterol -- managing 250+ staff will do that to you! But it wasn't anything that a few drugs + walnuts couldn't cure inside of 6 months :)

Thanks Garrett -- I just need to fix all my broken links :) The hard part is that whenever I try to fix a broken link, I end up using another term which should be defined and soon enough, I end up with a page like Wikipedia with more hyperlinked words than non-hyperlinked ones :(

I am going to develop SSI.mobi, an informational site about social security disability, explaining the process, how to apply, who can be approved, etc. etc. It may be the only one I develop, and I'm sure I'll get lots of help from you guys here. This is a very intelligent group of people, and very helpful. I've learned a lot here from you all.

Thats my happy .mobi story.

This thread is tremendous. After spending the last week trying to use the "regular" web on my cell phone exclusively via opera mini I am even more inspired than ever by the concept of .mobi, making content accessible to mobile users without relying on fancy high end phones. The sites mentioned so far in this thread can seriously help people in their lives. I find it inspiring and I commend you all in your efforts.

My sentiments exactly. Hats-off to you guys. It does not matter if .mobi is sucess or not as long as people have this kind of feeling about helping others. Keep-up the good work.

D-: D-: D-:

I'd be super happy if I could make enough off my names that I could essentially have them for free with reg fees paid by parking some or having advertisers. I'm not all that ambitious, as you can see. :guilty:

This little ext called .mobi gives me something to look forword to everyday. I have waited long and looked hard for a solid investment with big future potential. I believe we (the mobi investors) have made a wise choice and will soon be rewarded handsomly. It has been great hanging out here at namepros where I have learned a ton. Thanks to everyone who has contributed their knowledge on domaining and extended their hands to helping noobies go in the right direction. Long live .mobi! :)

I'm very pleased that Daterape.mobi is live and accessible to anyone who might have their questions or concerns answered on this subject. Also pleased it's listed in mTLD's showcase.

My next "work in progress" on the "happy thoughts" side of .mobi is JuvenileDiabtetes.mobi. I have first hand knowledge of questions that parents of young children with type 1 diabetes have. Particularly in the first year, lives of all family members change. Trying to figure out correct insulin doses for your infant who can't really tell you how he/she feels can be quite a stressful scenario. I'm just hoping that this site, when complete, will be able to help families to better cope with this lifelong disease.

Cheers to all of the others out their developing their "happy thoughts" mobi's. :) ..Thanks for the post Biff!

I would look at .mobi and its potential to make me happy in two ways:
1) if you guys realize it, it is not being extremely wealthy that will make us or most people happy. Just picture it in your mind: so the market realizes the value of .mobi overnight, and in a few months .mobi grows at an incredible pace. All the big, liquid rich domainers start to buy like crazy to us, pioneers, the best names for thousands or hundred of thousands. So then what? Yes, we could retire. But that won't make us happy.
However, being where you are today, seeing an opportunity that very few people still see, having that feeling of outsmarting others, feeling that you have something big in your hands, imagining the continuous return in your minimum investment...I think that having that feeling is already a great thing that .mobi is doing for us already. Don't you feel like this guys? Having that feeling that your future is "covered" is priceless, for me. Having that feeling that "it is just a matter of time" is really fulfilling. And if it doesn't happen...so what? At least we had that dream in the meantime...we fantasized...we imagined...we felt alive...we were really alive! And we learnt a lot in the meantime. Even if .mobi doesn't make it so big, having illusions is already something wonderful and valuable in itself. In a world that is turning ever more gray...at least we have an illusion. We are still fighting. A lot of people have given up already. We haven't.
2) as some of you mention, the feeling of helping others with our names is also good. I particularly have some names that plan to kind of "rent" for no money to whoever shows me that can use it better (it is a good name in the not-for-profit sector) Yes, I could make money working somehow around that name, but others could help others with it. So I'll leave it to them at no cost.
3) from a selfish and ego-oriented point of view, it is not soooo important, but I would really enjoy to see the face of some of the idiots that based on pure ignorance are despising .mobi today, when they realize what is going on. By that time, because .mobi kept the best names and we bought the rest, top names may well be gone. I acept differing viewpoints on the success of .mobi. But I hate to see some disinformed idiots that are talking about "the nail in .mobi coffin" and similar stuff without having done proper research, and on top of it, feeling they're very smart.
I see these idiots today as helping us to divert the attention away from .mobi. By undermining .mobi, they are helping us, you see?
We -small investors- need that time on our side until we have been able to make really good .mobi portfolios.
The worst thing that can happen to us is to have the big fishes using their 5000 names-a-day registering machines systems and staff working on .mobi. So wherever you guys see someone negging .mobi, I strongly suggest you to show that you agree with it, and encourage people away from .mobi in comments, forums and any other way you can.
When the big .mobi backers open the box and start with massive international marketing campaigns, everyone will know -and want!- .mobi overnight. We don't have to push .mobi ourselves, dont' worry...
At the stage we are in, the less competition we have, the better for us. So, if anyone asks me today "what do you think about .mobi?" I just answer "I dont' know much about it, don't know". If anyone says .mobi is crap, I say, "yeah, .com is really big, blah, blah" and divert the attention from .mobi as soon as I can. I just don't want them to see what I see yet. Get my drift? If you also do the same, if we all do the same, we can get bigger rewards. I prefer to be richer later and shut up my mouth today then to talk too much and point others to the treasure when it is still early and I haven't had the time to get to it the way I want yet.

First welcome to NP .mobi board, second I could not agree with you more on this. I missed the boat for the .com of the first wave, I am glad that I did not miss the second wave. At least I think I haven't.

Welcome to NP Skeitel, I like your style but I can't agree with you on this point. I don't get warm and fuzzy over illusions. The term plays to the notion that .mobi is just a pipe dream and doesn't account for the calculation, planning and due diligence many have labored in prior to participating in the .mobi tld.

Biff... This in itself has made .mobi the best extension ever. Touching story and the ability to help in some way is awesome. Congratulations!!!
