lalo.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable
chal.mobi - CCVC, pronouncable, means "let's go" in Hindi
wime.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable, typo?
pega.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable, "Peg A .Mobi"
bago.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable, "Bag O .Mobi"

cubi.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable
dika.mobi - CVCV, pronouncable

I say keep jodo.mobi and get a refund on the rest.

i think mostly reg fees. if mobi takes off, then they are ok investment, if it doesnt, then it doesnt matter if your names were much better. weird logic, but realistic. the "j" one sounds a little catchy to me by the way.

I think cvcv is less important than acronyms or getting big words and using the 4ltrs as an easy shortcut, I've been regging with that system throughout and I think its the smart way to go.

e.g. traveler(s)checque(s) and chqs.mobi and chks.mobi as shortcuts or links

lol. see we posted at same time, and i liked the "j" one too. keep that one and others that you have a good feeling about.

really difficult to say, i don't think the market is mature enough for 'brandables' however, you could get lucky, but otherwise i think they need to be long term holds.

agreed. take sakes.mobi. when i regd that one it thought it was barely above reg fee.

Thanks for the fast responses.
I'm actually going to hold onto all of them.

I feel smaller pronounceable .mobi's are better than keyword regs.

Simply because most mobiles have 9 key-pads,
and pronouncables are easier to brand to the .mobi target audience. u c?

It depends on the dotMobi. If it takes off, the CVCV is for long term investment is OK, 2~3 or 3~5 years.

In addition to the standard .MOBI/mTLD IF's ... that's also a LOT of annual renewal fees :$: ... should you decide to hold onto them for the long haul ("I'm actually going to hold onto all of them"), IMHO. :guilty: :snaphappy:

Perhaps pick 1 - 2 and develop with unique and compelling mobile content, instead? :gl: :imho:
Best of Luck.

I have heard both sides.
And I still went ahead and registered these.
I think .mobi has it's place, specially in the development perspective.

I am planning to renew them for 4 years each. $45 investment per name.

Have to do it before Aug 15 though, rates goto $16 then.

I'm going to develop ceetee.mobi, (all ceetee.tld are owned by us).
Hopefully will be able to manage some more.

Thanks a lot for your views and wishes.

estibot is about as useful as spitting into the wind.

I don't think we can rely on estibot at this time for .mobi, IMHO. I wish we could, because my portfolio would be worth mid 6 figures!

I don't agree with you, even though you're partially correct.

Have you seen it's latest avatar?
Counts incoming links / searches (ovt) / alexrank etc.

Pretty good in my book now.
But I agree automated results have no value.

I think when when you factor in renewal fees for a couple of years, you would be better off buying a .mobi on the aftermarket. This is not to say you wasted your money, just my opinion on how I would do things based on what I have learned.

It's fairly useful for dotcoms for getting a "ballpark" figure. I certainly wouldn't be using it on .mobis -- or any extension with so few data points (sales). The fact that a few huge sales (or dismal ones) could shift the value of .mobi entirely (in Estibot's eyes) is of serious concern to anyone wanting to take the results it spits out for .mobis seriously.

Because .com has such a long history, filled with sales over a decade, it's much easier for Estibot to yield relatively accurate results. But to look at the results it spits out for .com, rationalize a certain margin of error, and then apply that to .mobi is a serious mistake IMO.

LLLL.mobis are reg-fee at best in the current market. Future potential? To be determined... Worth waiting on? I don't know. It really depends on how strong you feel the extension will be in the future. I haven't made an investment in LLLL.mobi, except for a few actual words that are four letters in nature.

I'm sure at $27 or $45 (3 or 5 yrs) I'm not going to get anything in the .mobi aftermarket.

If you can show me where I can I will be grateful

Thx

I think what Neo meant, was that rather than spend $45 per LLLL.mobi over 5 years, spend $200 on a single aftermarket name, in example. IMO, you'd be better off with a single $200 name (i.e. a low quality LLL.mobi or brandable) than with 5 LLLL.mobi, despite roughly equal costs.

I think the point was to buy one or two in the aftermarket verses several dozen hand reg's. Take 20 hand reg's at $45 - that's $900. Or spend $450 on two good aftermarket domains and only have 2 renewals every year.
