Well I have some consideration to do and I am wondering if anyone has gone to MIT here recently hopefully and if they could tell me a little bit about it, I know its a fine school but I am going in a technical line of work and my choices are not very great, only schools I could think of are MIT, Carnegie Mellon and GT unless someone could suggest a different one. I know Georgia Tech is full of the RPG zombies and such...

That won't be a problem I have the requirements but I don't want to blow 40 grand a year and find out the school sucks. I am planing to be an Engineer, most likely Mechanical or Eletrical.

I'm not sure why, but I doubt you have the grades.

It takes alot more than grades to get into MIT

Also Carnegie Melon requires that you apply with an artisitic portfolio before accepting you. (thought id let you know)

15 something wont get you in

you need 1580- 1600

Unless there is something very special about another aspect in your life

Let me worry about requirements, I can always retake the SATs I just need to know some good schools, my counselor is not very bright.

I have some good friends that went there, and I got in there back in the day.
15 anything is fine, don't let people scare you :)
At MIT, last year's incoming Freshman: 72% scored above 600 verbal; 97% scored above 600 math. That means that at least 1/4 of the class got below a 1400.

I worked for Kaplan admissions (The admissions counseling folk) and saw people get into MIT with random qualifications. If that is where you want to go, best of luck to you and I wish you the best :)

The avg freshman SAT of the last admission season was 1467.

Assuming selectivity barriers are out of the way - some schools with a good engineering reputation:

Caltech
Stanford
Berkeley
Cornell
Ann Arbor

Edit:

Hell - who goes to a school for a high quality of education?

Take the full ride + stipend at UF and party for 4 years.
