No. He shouldn't. An "immediate death sentence" is in no way appropriate here, and the fact that you would even say something like that is downright appalling.

EVERYONE deserves a fair trial before being punished.

So you don't think hes guilty? have you read everything on this, have you seen the paper trail that proves by itself hes guilty?

I don't care if this is mike vick or tom smith, hes guilty.

He may be guilty, sure. But 'immediate death' for dogfighting? That's a bit drastic don't you think?

your right, i think he should be put in the ring with these dogs.... or better yet, have him and all the other sickos out there that get off from this type of brutality battle it out in the 'thunderdome'...

2 men enter, 1 man leave...only to be eaten by rabid dogs...

but seriously, there has to be some sort of jail time for animal cruelty. imo

Oh, yes, I'm all for punishing those cruel to animals.. I love animals, but that 'immediate death' just..erm.. :/

He should atleast spend a few years in jail.

The thing that most puzzles me about all of this, What is a person that is worth , probably 25 million dollars + , Doing dog fighting for, he is a total fruit cake, imo

But no death sentence is in order here, Be rational, I love animals, and i can see him getting prision time, But not the death penalty.

I totally agree with .X.. Its all about rationality. What he did was cruel and should have been more responsible for his actions knowing that small kids are looking up to him as a role model. Man the guy is a super athlete and yet like many other pro athletes have flaws. He's only human after all, but with great talent.

I dont think jail time covers it, if you can just kill an animal like that, you would have no problems killing a person. Eye for an eye, I think he should be beaten to death! hes a low life piece a crap.

And its not just the pit fighting, if a dog he bet on lost, he would kill it himself, light it on fire, drown it, stab it, hes a sick mofo and I think he should get the same treatment.

My statement has nothing to do with if I think he is guilty or not.

The point here is that he deserves to have a fair trial to determine which laws he has and has not broken and the most fitting applicable punishments for breaking whichever laws he is found to have broken.

He should NOT be punished for crimes that he has not been convicted of, and an "immediate death" is in no way an appropriate punishment for the crimes he is currently charged with.

I don't care if this is mike vick or tom smith, he has the right to a fair trial (See: The 5th, 6th, and 14th Amendments to the US Constitution).

I'm a SERIOUS dog and animal lover, and I think he should do time in additional to any other professional penalties or endorsement losses he may lose, etc. IMHO. :!: :yell:

Realistically, though ... he will never go to jail for this, sadly! :'( :imho:

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

which is why injustice to the poor and weak (human or animal) is often over-looked. the way this 'justice' system is set up, he'll plea bargain out of a conviction and most likely pay a fine and do volunteer work...

why is it that sports stars can get away with murder? why is it that many will ignore the damage they cause and run to their defense?

Again, I'm not trying to discount the crimes (probably) committed.

My point here is there is a severe inconsistency with the post I was responding to. {insert name here} goes so far as to endorse what amounts to torture ("light it on fire, drown it, stab it, hes a sick mofo and I think he should get the same treatment") and beating Vick to death ("I think he should be beaten to death!"). These kinds of statements are both inflammatory and reactionary.

The punishment should FIT the crime, not BE the crime. Torturing Vick to death wouldn't accomplish anything positive.

people's bark are worse than their bite....no pun intended.

i believe that if this crime was committed, Vick will get his punishment, whether in this world or the next, still..people talk, and they have a right to.
