I agree but obviously for collection value. How long can that last? It's not useful for much else that I can see.

So he buys a nice trophy domain but I take it by him appraising it that indeed he is one of those handfull of people that he stated are appraisers. I remember him saying only a few people in this industry should be taken serious with appraisals. He must be one of them throwing a figure out.

Meaningful names with 3 word or even 4 word .com have always some values.

I agree, like ReadyToDrinkCoffee(.)COM which happens to be a category name for bottled coffee. Meaningful names like this are very valuable.

As for Mann's new acquisition, I probably wouldn't have spent that much on the worldwideweb domain name mainly because he'd be sitting on it for a very long time (10yrs+) before getting any potential buyer IMO. But Mike probably wouldn't spend that much on a name without a plan on getting the most out of it.

Anybody know what Mike's cost to renew names per year, I assume there all .com, or 99% of them. How many domains does he own ballpark, anybody know? Not sure if Mike makes money every year with his business model, but I assume he has more good years than bad years.
