Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

MetaverseHub.com

Welcome! :)

I agree, Apple might focus in the hardware side, not the software… Most about products…
I have a strong feeling that Apple is going to be promoting AR, MR and VR products, but not the metaverse. Especially bc Meta was the first co to promote it to the masses like its a product of their own. You can't have several companies claiming to be the one metaverse. Apple likes clarity and less dreamy bullshit. So it's possible they will stay away from using the word. After all, they are mostly a hardware company anyway. It would be unusual if them to produce an ecosystem beyond an market that provides apps that can be metaverse in of themselves. The other high possibility is that they'd partner with a Metaverse company like Epic instead of trying to be a Metaverse co themselves. This is just my speculation.

Ultinately it's not necessary to be part of the Metaverse narrative in order to be a "Metaverse co" . After all, the metaverse is a big dreamy, abstract concept that was baked out of dystopian science fiction. The internet will Ultinately have to be the metaverse by adding a virtual layer to it, if there's ever going to be a true Metaverse. I'm hoping that Meta is instead building a walled garden, bc if they are pushing the universal web as the metaverse on their own, then they'll have unrestricted control over how it emerges and the technologies used. That is not a decentralized, evenly democratized effort. We need the internet to be the metaverse and Apple may realize that all this Metaverse hype will fall flat before its actually realized, avoiding the embarrassment of a young overly ambitious CEO trying to grab power and failing miserably before we enter a 3rd VR winter

Don't think another VR winter is coming, I think tech is getting closer and that's the reason for all the hype.
It's not there yet but it's a starting point.

I believe that war has just started.

I hope I'm wrong and there isn't another VR winter, but honestly, everyone has tried VR before and there are already really advanced headsets and a variety of very high resolution sophisticated apps. It's AR that we are waiting for and social VR to pick up.

I think VR will be limited to how much it's adapted because it blocks off the world. MR is going to take off with Apples MR headset possibly next year. AR is really complicated and even after the first AR glasses are released it won't be like the movies. This shit needs a lot of time to advance. I think MR will take off before AR bc MR's time is TODAY. Incredible things are being done in MR right now. But Apple hates that term and will call it "AR".

Everything comes back to AR which Facebook and others considers part of the metaverse.

Anyway... Just sharing thoughts, thinking out loud, speculating etc

I agree with both of your above posts
Apple is mature enough to avoid this bullshit talk of "creating THE metaverse".
One hypothesis: they may call it SR

Man... In terms of branding and domaining, the Metaverse is an awesome tool for conceptualizing and a great marketing tool to push XR products and services. But it's abstract and doesn't have a clear definition. It is similar to "The Information Super Highway" from the 90s. When the metaverse finally gets here (and it won't be a fucking Facebook service) we will just call it "The Internet". The Metaverse is making us money as domainers and that's the "bottom line". There will be much more money to be made in this niche. A LOT more... but thinking about this more wholistically, YES it is TOTAL BULLSHIT 😅... I say ride the wave. It will last until the metaverse gets here. Then it will probably just be called "The Internet"... At least most of the time, if not all the time. Just my take... Could be wrong if course.

Again not bullshit as it's branding and branding is important.

Bullshit is something that is not important.

This is important as a phase to make this new thing a reality in time

You didn't read my reply thoroughly... There's no conflict between our replies. I'm just talking about the bigger picture... Beyond Facebook trying to convince the world that they are the metaverse or that it's a product and not an enhancement of the internet. In the bigger picture of things, not all companies will join the metaverse narrative. In the bigger picture, it will take a more decentralized, democratic effort to create a true "Metaverse" because it's not owned by anyone, regardless of how FB wants to portray its self. This is a great opportunity to make money for the next few years. We are domainers... It's profitable so in that respect it's not bullshit... But I was speaking more broadly my friend...
