Lots of companies are not joining the Metaverse right now. They are just protecting there brand for the future to come due to all the recent movements that are taking place.
Nevertheless each major company has for sure a project a whitepaper or roadmap and dedicated team for there take in to the metaverse.
Chinese busnisess like Baidu, NetEase, Tencent are making movements.

There were over 2400 MV registrations in the last 7 day and most appear Metaverse related. A few hundred of those are "MVerse" domains, many of which were regged by 2 - 3 people in the last few days. MVerse is another shortening of the word Metaverse that I also anticipated and started regging 4 months ago. I like MVerse and it has potential, but don't believe it has as much potential as MV, so I only grabbed these 4, just in case:

MVerse /.Games

MVerse + Casino /.com

MVerse + P*rn /.com

I am literally watching my predictions come to life right before my eyes, it's great. I realized months ago that MV is so intuitive that hoards of people would have to pick up in it eventually. Now it's mostly just Domainers speculating... going all in head first, but I'm hopeful that end user interest in MV will pick up someday soon, as companies are looking to distance themselves from Meta now and wanting a shorter alternative to the long tail "Metaverse + Keyword + extension".

P.S. I personally stay away from MVS domains. That's the acronym of a popular crypto blockchain named Metaverse, and it has little to do with the metaverse. It's likely not going to have a universal meaning because the hashtag has populated social media already.
