There is literally zero evidence this "meta company" even existed before October 2021, no signs of their online activity to be found until recently.

Nice read, but looks like someone try to secure his domain from FB. No information about Meta.company at all. Maybe owner should accept FB first offer. I think this message is unlikely to help sell the domain, even more likely to harm.

They run a business under the name Meta. They dictate the price of rebranding not Facebook. The gist is they have a trademark and they aren’t selling cheap. There are more articles on this subject out there.

I didn’t say anyone owned it. I said the same thing you are implying. FB does not have first rights to the word and the current holders are allowed to object the trademark app they opened on 10-28.
