Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

MetaverseHub.com

Welcome! :)

Avatar 2 is coming out btw...

Stay away from 3 word domains. They generally don't sell, especially at those lengths. Regging 3 word domains is a common beginner mistake. You should do some research about domaining before wasting more of your money. Just trying to help...

Yes I agree, normally that sounds like good advice that everyone should listen to, but it seems like when it comes to Meta most of the old rules are off the table,

Nevertheless I kind of like:

MetaMoneyCenter.com

Despite being long, but I believe that it's worth taking a chance with for one year registration fee now that the Meta market has become so hot.

But I don't recommend just registering any three word domain.

IMO

I kind of agree and I think they are very speculative, but did you not reg these yourself - MetaLiveCams dot com - MetaverseLiveCams dot com

Keep laughing lol...

Nothing I said was absolute. Part of learning the game is knowing when it could be a benefit to break away from your usual strategy.

If you read more carefully you'll see that I said 3 word domains "usually" don't sell, "especially at those lengths". I didn't speak in an absolute way on purpose.

VRLiveCams sold for 5k (rare) so I gave the Meta version a shot. This was a one name gamble with consideration of the fact that there is a market for those kinds of names ... Not a strategy for regging a dozens of domains. I own only 2 other 3 word domains and they are that way because the words can't be seperated, for a reason I'm too lazy to elaborate on now.

P. S. If you want to be pedantic you can find plenty of 3 word name sales, especially in real estate and law...there are usually exceptions to all the advice I give on here, but I'm no pro guru so I keep it short,so pedantic guys like you can have something to laugh about 😉

Part of domaining is brand theory and recognizing brand trends. They are different by industry. In tech its short and to the point with as few words and characters as possible. The name needs to fit in the top left corner of their website and look slicker than a lawyer's or government page. It needs to fit under an app icon on your phone. It needs to look good as a Twitter hash. Long names don't cut it. So much theory behind this stuff. You have to do your home work about the different factors to consider.

Also the more words you have in your title the more you have to stack of you're not using an acronym. Where ever your name goes, if there isn't enough space horizontally those words will have to be stacked... Unless you are willing to shrink down the letters. This is why 1 word domains are "executive" looking and smooth. No stacked words.. Think less is more in domaining.

Keep laughing lol...

Thank, I will - I had no intentions of being pedantic and my comment was meant as a funny ironic observation because you started out very bastand with: Stay away from 3 word domains. - But of course you are welcome to give advice to a beginner who has been a member since 2004 and otherwise refrain from listening to them yourself

Taking out a tiny bit of what I said in order to make a wise crack was a bit pedantic, but I am laughing with you guy, relax. No hard feelings. And thanks for letting me know OldTimer has been here that long. I am on mobile so I don't see all of that.

I assumed he was a beginner regging those 3 word names lol... But hey, if he's been domaining that long and still regging them in mass, maybe he knows something I don't? I just hope he's making a return! 😅

I am really torn as to whether meta is now more or less valuable as a keyword.

In some ways metakeyword is now just promoting Facebook.

I wonder now, will meta names still be in demand like how they use to be few weeks back or people will stay away from it to avoid any correlation with FB's meta?

I guarantee you the big players are trying to Reg as many metaverse domains as possible.

Very few will bother regging new meta domains unless there are some great sales.

Edit: fixed typo

Can you share why they will go big on Meta names? When FB already rebranded the company name to Meta now, don't you think people will try to stay away from Meta/Metaverse names to avoid any legal or issues or similar name confusions? I am really confused here...

Well this isn't just a simple name change. If that was the case, it'd be a bit ho hum because well....facebook. But this has facebook and metaverse intertwined. This is really about the Metaverse and mark hiding facebook from his past lolz!
