I need to decide which keywords to use for my forum website.

Which is better for seo? One or two words?

"sustainability forum" or "sustainability", "forum"

You would not want to be on first page for "sustainability" and for "forum"

Your keyword looks like "sustainability forum" so targetting it would be better. Plus it will have much less competition compared to "forum" keyword.

The keywords I am trying to get are sustainability forum, environment forum and environmental forum. But these last two are very hard to get.

Any tips?

Find other relevant keywords for the tougher keywords and start out slowly by targetting lower search volume keywords along with lower competition.

It will put your forum in motion. After that user generated content will bring in more traffic.

I fully agree with you NIck.

Inorder to target the tough key word firstly you have to put stress on lower search search volume keywords so that the competitions are not more.

But, how many long tail keywords can I use ?, for example I have a blog about celebrities and each one should have its own keyword, should I keep using only one long tail keyword ?
