Would like to know your opinion on this choice.

Do you think it was a smart, wise, bold, stupid or don't give a damn choice?

Interesting, her daughter is pregnant?

Probably an oversight Sarah forgot to mention to the McCain camp when she made the short list. Funny how Palin's young daughter will be looked upon differently than a 17 year old pregnant girl from the ghetto.

They say McCain knew about this before he picked her

The girl and guy are going to get married and raise the kid. When your mom has a chance to ultimaly be pressident of the USA you cant really compare that to any other 17 year old girl from any background can you?

I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't HELP her image. It makes her seem like a "regular" mother who encounters big issues and problems just like everyone else does....And I know the dem's definitely won't jump on it as far as trying to defame her with this, because that would backfire terribly.

If she can not manage her own family while holding an executive office (governor of Alaska), then how can she be expected to manage an entire nation should she some day assume the office of president? Don't forget that she is also behind her teen daughter marrying the young father. Yeah, that's a good idea. I wonder when they'll be guests on Jerry Springer.

I don't think anything needs to be said about the situation, it is what it is. To me the problem is the way a large segment of our society condemns young teenage mothers as morally corrupt for having a baby, but because of this girls place/class in society, it will be considered Okay for her.

Imagine every woman with a teenage girl who's having a baby, and wondering why they get dirty looks from all their neighbors, but the woman on TV is praised for her situation?

I wonder what society would say if Obama had a pregnant 17 year old daughter, or is that where this will be going before the elections take place. Who wants to bet that her pregnancy becomes an issue? But I'm sure I'm not the first to think it.

I say, by Friday you hear that comment on some liberal news show, and then boom, the slinging starts. When I hear politicians say, something is off limits, you begin to see the laser points all zeroing in on that which is off limits.

She's off limits, yeah and this will be an honorable campaign from both sides for the race to 1600.

You can do everything perfect and still get a pregant 17-year-old daughter

"Don't forget that she is also behind her teen daughter marrying the young father" How do you know that?

Jerry Springer's guest dont come from elite familys lol

She released a statement saying she's proud her daughter is keeping the baby and getting married.

I think this girl is just a victim in that she was cursed with parents who refused to teach her about sexual education. If she knew about contraception instead of abstinence abstinence abstinence she might not be in this situation.

Personally either McCain didn't know about the girl being pregnant or his shortlist really was short, in that he didn't have many he'd think would be his running mate.

Palin may appeal to "regular folk" tho who can empathize with her. I think he could have made a better choice..

Do you have kids?? Anybody who thinks they can "manage" their family is either seriously deluded or a tyrant. Managing a family, managing a state or country. Two different things, and mostly unrelated.

Managing 5 children, 2 of them teenage women, is far more difficult than managing a country.

I should also note that Barack Obama's mother was only 18 when he was born....

Cursed with these parents? Every kid should have parents like that.

Bet you that girl been educated like crazy on these matters, it just with teenagers, **** happens.

LOL. Cursed because she wasn't taught sexual education?! Seriously!? I'm sorry.. but that is just too funny. Everyone learns sex ed... and does anyone ever follow it? NO! How many people here can really say they didn't have sex like jackrabbits when they were teenagers.......

I'm a conservative, but there's no way I could vote for this ticket; Ron Paul was the only chance the party had of getting things back in order.

The kids probably practice their sex education more frequently in Alaska because of the cold weather. I don't see it as an issue , just as I don't see any issue in fact that Barack Obama's mother was only 18 when he was born, or that his Kenyan father abandoned them soon after that.

I guess if your kids learn about sex from some manual in school, then they are cursed; signing that parental waver doesn't guarantee that they will be properly educated. I don't have kids, but I remember how useless "Sex Ed" was when I took it. Hearing part A goes into part B creates part C only left the classroom in hysterics.

How could he possibly pick someone as his running mate that he only met once before, and that meeting was very brief? This just shows how well McCain makes decisions, and again I say, I think he's starting to loose it.

If someone came to you tomorrow and said McCain completely lost his senses, that he has become completely senile, not one of you would be surprised. Listen to his speeches, does he sound sharper or as if speaking is becoming a greater struggle?

If McCain gets elected, I will have no doubt that I'm from Mars, and that this is all just an experiment.

"His short list was very short", that's a good one.

The Electoral College system is unfair, in my opinion.

A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win the Presidency. California has 55 electoral votes (53 Congressional districts + 2 Senators).

If George Washington receives 25,000,000 votes and Abraham Lincoln wins 25,000,001 - Abraham Lincoln wins all 55 electoral votes.

In my opinion, this doesn't convey the actual "will of the people." It would be more accurate to breakdown the electoral votes by Congressional district, and to allot the Senatorial votes to the candidate who wins the largest percentage of overall votes, or something similar to that.

If we allotted electoral votes proportionally instead of a "winner-take-all," it would force candidates to compete everywhere for as many electoral votes as possible.

I wrote a 50 page research paper about this in college, so that's why I love this topic :D

It wouldn't matter what type of system we use. I call this period in politics the "promise them the world" period. Doesn't matter if he's a Republican, or Democrat. They will both promise to do a 1,000 things if they get elected. They all promise to stop the war, lower taxes, feed the poor, protect our borders, help the seniors, help kids in college, and yada yada yada!
When they get elected they forget half of the stuff they promised to do, because now they don't have too. A 1/4 of the other promises they can't do because Congress won't let them. Another 1/8 of the 1,000 promises they never intended to do, they were just trying to get elected!
Everyone knocks Bush for his time spend as President. Do you really think miracles with take place because now it will be Obama or McCain? Are all the wars in the world going to end instantly? I doubt it. I'm not defending Bush, but I seriously doubt things will change overnight. Maybe it is time for a woman to be allowed to try and run our country! I don't think it's gonna hurt anything!
Remember who you vote for now, and right down all the things they promise to do when they get elected. Then, in 2-3 years, see how many were done.

This is my opinion only, I don't care who you vote for. May the best "salesman" win! What is really funny is the millions Hillary spent to get back in the Whitehouse, and Palin has a chance as a VP for next to free! Hillary is the best salesman, she should have won. She has me convinced Obama is a miracle worker! According to her, he will save the USA, and solve every single problem there is! The USA will live happily ever after! She is GOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!!!
