Personally either McCain didn't know about the girl being pregnant or his shortlist really was short, in that he didn't have many he'd think would be his running mate.

Oh come on... Palin herself told the joke, which btw, would've been considered blatantly sexist if it were told by a man. That graphic is just a visual representation of what she said. It would've been funnier though if it was a pig with lipstick, because that's exactly what Palin is, lipstick (a pretty face) on a pig (the McCain campaign).

Really, I missed the part where she mentioned having a leash and chain which McCain - who had nothing to do with the comment - is holding.

It's these great meaningless leaps of logic that distract from actual content. That banner isn't designed to be funny - it's designed to hurt, to insult, maybe inflame.

The crafty selection was made to shore up the extreme base (ie., the right-wing evangelicals) of the Republican party, to create some excitement to an otherwise super dull and visibly aged and cranky McCain, and to hopefully take some incremental votes (ie. sadly, from white MALES) in some of the key swing states ... in other words, Palin was chosen to hopefully help WIN the election for McCain - she clearly does not have the temperment, judgement, qualities, capacity, or requisite experience to actually be the United States Vice President, IMHO.

This will go down as one of the biggest shams in political history, said and done (and once things settle down and we learn much, much more of Palin's background)! :o :imho:
