Would like to know your opinion on this choice.

Do you think it was a smart, wise, bold, stupid or don't give a damn choice?

Personally I think Obama is going to smoke Mccain just because there are a lot of angry people out there who know another 4 years of the same is going to drive the country further and further down. I know a good number of hardcore republicans who say that are voting obama because of the mess bush has created.

^ Agreed, and I also know several long-term Republicans that are now 100% fully supoorting REAL CHANGE in this election - and thus #1 Obama/Biden! :lala: :imho:

No wonder you deleted my reply (not once..but twice!) about how religion has killed more people, caused more wars and injustices than porn or gambling ever could or would.

I truly hope these deletions are not true (especially considering the "Christian Forum" link/promotion in the signature area), IMHO. :guilty:

McCain's tax policy favors the rich, and there is no evidence that administrations under either Republicans or Democrats ... have ever resulted in "less government", IMHO.

So, we do the natural thing and go vote for the one that will give us the most government involvement, right? Choose socialism over capitalism, it's the American way!

Did you get that with bush? no...you got more laws and regulations and invasion of privacy than ever. did you get it with reagan or the other bush either? no and no. They just make promises that will never happen, like most politicians.

Assumptions, assumptions. Have I ever once said anything about Bush in this thread? Obviously not. I'm voting for John McCain just as I am talking about John McCain and Sarah Palin in this thread.

No wonder you deleted my reply (not once..but twice!) about how religion has killed more people, caused more wars and injustices than porn or gambling ever could or would.

For those of you who would like to know the truth, I am a moderator of the Web Hosting forums only, which is quite clear from the fact that I am only listed in those forums as a moderator. I have no power to remove posts here. Is this how you always conduct your arguments, by making false accusations about even the people involved? Your understanding is lacking.

Same as above goes for you Jeff. That is completely classless, and I'd expect much better from someone with the reputation you have. You've lost all my respect, and you've shown your true colors!

I was talking about GF. In a thread discussing why people choose not to have adult domains in their portfolio, people went on about how they thought God would want them to bring positive things into the world, ect and I just had to point out all of the death and destruction caused in the name of religion. The post was deleted, so I posted again, and was again deleted and the thread was closed by GF.

And by the way, let's get some real facts in here and stock making blanket personal opinion statements seem like facts:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/110263/Battle-Congress-Suddenly-Looks-Competitive.aspx

PRINCETON, NJ -- A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters' "generic ballot" preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year.

If everything is trending so Democratic behind Obama, then why is this happening? Why does a Democratic Congress boast such an abysmally low approval? I would assume that the average American voter knows Congress makes the laws.

I was talking about GF. In a thread discussing why people choose not to have adult domains in their portfolio, people went on about how they thought God would want them to bring positive things into the world, ect and I just had to point out all of the death and destruction caused in the name of religion. Fair enough, I apologize for my mistake on that, but I do not withdraw my comments for Jeff, because he ran with it. The least he could do was directly make his statements instead of hiding behind words, absolutely classless.

This is exactly why these threads don't ever work, because you end up getting some folks who start attacking the posters. But hey, the audience here is a smart one, so I leave what I said at that.

That's a pretty serious accusation. I hope it's not true.

I simply said above that I hoped it wasn't true (in any forum on this site and by any of my fellow Staff™; Break Room, Domain Discussions, Web Hosting, etc.) ... given the perceptions in that one may also be promoting a Christian Forum or similar here in their signature, IMHO. :gl:
On a personal level, you seem a bit 'worked up' on this topic at this time ... but of course you're most certainly entitled to your fair and humble opinions, no worries.

No Jeff, hiding behind double-edged words won't work. I'm calling it this because you decided to suggest that merely because I have a Christian forum in my signature, I must be deleting posts of someone with an opposing viewpoint. It's a convenient opportunity to get away from the discussion, speaking to comments you made earlier about the Republicans doing it. Looks like the pot is just as black as the kettle in that case.

As Staff Emeritus, surely you are familiar with how the staff works here at Namepros, and a cursory check would make it obvious as to my status? It's just a pretty big leap for someone of your status to make that kind of accusation. I would expect it from someone passionate about their beliefs and perhaps new to the forum.

That's quite an interesting accusation, considering the fact that I moderate the Domains with Traffic Stats subforum, and I don't have the ability to close threads I don't start. ;)

Get your facts straight, and don't get personal here. We can discuss the issues - take a clue from Jeff, briman1970, and the others in the thread who don't attack people personally.

And for the record, I think that Bush expanding the size of the federal government, and spending TRILLIONS on the Iraq War was stupid to say the least. It's not conservative, and I don't agree with his radical spending.

Intimately. :gl:

Again, my post was "I truly hope these (any) deletions are not true" ... and now, more importantly as a member of Staff™ yourself, it's important for you to keep your composure, my friend - and I also apologize if you took my above words as an accusation, as well.
Please feel free to PM me directly if you'd like to discuss further.

Agreed, so multiply that times Obama's plans. That's what is so scary about this. He'd take the country farther left than Johnson and even Roosevelt, IMHO. Fiscally speaking, a case could rather easily be made that Bush was moderately liberal on some policies.

I guess that's the great paradox here - folks are (understandably) against wiretaps and other big brother decisions, yet they'll support a President that will put all of your medical records and control even more of your money into power. We already have the highest corporate tax in the world; I for one did not form a corporation with my company because of that.

We'll raise the capital gains tax so it's no longer feasible for someone like me to invest money in the stock market. Oh, and by the way, Obama wants to raise that to erase Bill Clinton's cut on that. We'll raise taxes on someone like me who'd one day like to maybe be a CIO/CTO in a company. Another of my dreams is to run my own business, but Mr. Obama would like more of that money as well, desiring to raise the FICA tax.

I just want people to look past the big word of "change" and see what this guy is about. Unity sounds great, but I'll skip it if it means socialism and poverty.

Peace

We all stated our views. It's 50-50! One side will never convince the other side they are wrong! Leave it up to the polls! No candidate is perfect, you can find dirt on any of them , if you look hard enough. Who ever wins will then be able to prove how much change they will really bring, or not bring.
Le's not become enemies here. We are here to make money buying, and selling domains! Peace to all.

Frank, can you please make this into a commercial so we can play it all over TV? You stated it perfectly. :kickass:

**Edit**
I just saw one of the Adsense ads on this thread - it was an attorney who specializes in libel, slander, and asks if you've received hate mail. :o :!: Even Google thinks everything's gone out of hand!

It is a good question, I don't see any deleted messages like that in here.

Talking politics is fine, but stick to the issues and don't degrade things into personal attacks on other members. If that simple rule is too difficult, you may find yourself more comfortable on a forum specifically dedicated to political debate or name-calling.

RE: The deleted posts.
Those were from another thread about adult names.

Jasonn,
GF cannot close threads, nor delete posts not in his section. So you owe him a personal apology.

I think I (not sure it was me, but I agreed they needed to be gone.) deleted them to keep the thread from going WAY off topic.

And jasonn, just for reference, I only fly in planes with two left wings, so it was not anything to do with religion or politics that got them deleted, it was because they didnt fit the thread.

Peace,
Cyberian

Jasonn has sent me a kind, private apology.

If I have the ability to edit/delete posts anywhere on NamePros, censoring someone because I disagree with them is the farthest from my personal beliefs.

As a Moderator for NamePros, my primary responsibility is to positively promote activity on our site, not to detract from it.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :xf.love:

Those aren't the only places she's heated up... :notme:

Here is a neat quiz - figure out which candidate is most in line with your beliefs: http://www.speakout.com/VoteMatch/quiz.asp?quiz=Pres2008

There's also a great one to help you figure out your political beliefs (liberal, populist, libertarian, conservative)

I would have gladly voted for Ron Paul, he's a clear thinker and very informed. It seemed like he was the only candidate that got it. If he had been nominated, he would have had my vote. But there's no way I can support the McCain ticket, it just seems set up to push Palin into the oval office.

That's all I see, McCain passing away and Palin walking right in. I can't vote for a person who doesn't believe in dinosaurs roaming the earth millions of years ago, and that raped women don't have a choice on whether to abort the rapists child.

The whole Palin angle just seems so staged to me, it's a new low in political theatrics.

Unfortunately, he'll be around 77 years old in 2012. Just another way the media can reject him and his bid for the presidency. Of course, the media may be an entirely different animal in 4 years.

It makes me really sad to say, but I think the rEVOLution was a once in a lifetime shot for the good doctor. :'(

As much as I Hate these damn threads (They cause nothing but problems and bad feelings between members who otherwise would be friends and do Business together - Which has no Place in a DOMAIN FORUM) - I will say this.

Why are so many people worried about Candidates Experience (Either Obama or Palin) ? What type of Experience do you want them to have ? IMO "Political Experience" is being able to Screw us over and tell us lies without blinking or thinking twice ... Put someone in there that hasn't been schooled by the same old Politicians.

I'd take a Dirt Farmer with a 3rd Grade education over all of the crooks and liars we have to choose from ... At least He -or- She would be a "Real" person used to "Real" Problems.

Face it - It really doesn't matter WHICH Party wins ... Not one Damn thing will really change. It'll just be Different Crooks screwing us over. I'd love for one of these Dynamic Duos to make me eat my words ... But I won't hold my breath.
