I'm trying to understand why the forum was not at the top. So far haven't heard anyone disappointed with the change, so why did RJ change it?

I'm guessing he put marketplace on top based solely on its activity.

I believe this change was made to start focusing more on the Marketplace & development of the new Fixed Price NameMart addition. Naturally, due to the sale of NamePros the NameMart idea seems to have been on hold, so it was all still in kind of a beta testing stage.

The information you are looking for probably wouldn't be in the hands of the general member populus and more likely found with Administrative staff since it was still in a beta stage.

Wish I had more info. to share, but that's all i really have at the moment on this subject. Hope it helps a little.

I have an idea, what about the ability to mark your favorite forums and have a duplicate of those shown on the very top?

I don't think there is such a feature now.

It's actually a pretty good idea. The actual marketplace that RJ developed doesn't work for me, but it is a nice way to get things structured. And I get the concept.

I'll talk to you guys on Tuesday about this.

Putting stuff "above the fold" on a page gets it more visibility so about 6 months ago I moved the marketplace forums to the top to see if we could get more buying and selling activity. TBH, I haven't noticed much change in activity.

Ray, I'll still be around in some capacity, but I think NamePros will be better off in Matt's hands. He has way more youth and style than I do. :]

Knew this thread would be somewhere. After much digging around, I have found it. Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I hope to change this place and make it a much better community for all. There's definitely many positive improvements coming in the weeks and months ahead. We already know what we have to change, just a matter of actually executing.

I can't say that I will be as active as RJ and as well known amongst the members as I'm mostly known for working hard and long hours and not enjoying myself as I should. But, hopefully that will be a good thing as I'll work hard on the improvements that this community desperately needs. At least for the first few months.

Michelle and the team will report to me on every issue and daily happenings. I'll try to be here as active as possible.

Will be keeping a close eye on how things progress here - the time was definitely ripe for someone to take on RJs legacy and push things forward.

I truely hope that the forum moves in the right direction but continues to remain true to its routes of being inclusive for all.
