Mars Anomalies... one I've discovered.

Anyone here interested in the funky looking "rocks" and landforms in the latest (and earlier) pictures form Mars? I'm skeptical of most claims, but I've got to admit, there is something that just doesn't "fit" about some of these images.

Here is one I discovered. I've yet to see it posted at any other
"anomaly" site. What do you think of when you look at this image?

www.kungo.com/mars-anom.JPG

I took it from this Mars photo:
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/all/2/r/015/2R127703516EFF0327P1221R0M1.JPG

I have enlarged, sharpened and contrasted the anomaly, but have not altered it in any other way. What causes this kind of configuration? What's the deal with the holes and ridges in this mass? It doesn't seem to be a rock. Is it a clump of the strangely "sticky/slicky" Mars soil that fell off the Rover? Is it a trick of light and shadow?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Funny you should mention that, Lee.... that rock has caused a bit of a stir among the anomalist community... here's a nice close up of it:

IMO, a lot of stuff on the enterprisemission.com site is boulderdash (no pun intended:)) ..but there are a few interesting finds there.

Well.. Being the "ever skeptic".. I would have to say nothing suspicious. Having been Diving for about 7 years now, I've seen pretty interesting formations and carvings, including shapes as such.

As far as water being there is concerned, while I was in UCLA ( I have my BS in Quantum Physics (Major) and my minor in Cosmology... it's not really a Question if there was water on Mars at one point, after all.. the entire reason Mars is red is because the Iron/ore in the soil is literally rusted... so indeed, it could quite possible be a water signature.

Albeit, the shape of it..and the appearance of it being from what appears to be a section that is flat (read:looks like it broke off something else)..is suspect.Life on Mars? negative.

Lee... impressive background.

I'm not implying there is life (though I wouldn't dismiss the possibility out of hand). I just find the Mars land forms and rocks to be fascinating.
