.jp Many free LLL.jp ?

Hi,
I updated my tool to be able to handle the .JP domain. I expected maybe there will be some nice LLN.jp or even 1, 2 LLL.jp left free one day. But what I've seen was shocking me. There seem to be loads of LLL.JP domains not regged. What does that mean? How can this be in such a high-tech and industrialized and bic country? I do not mean .co.jp, only the simple .jp

bae.jp, bav.jp, bce.jp, bcq.jp, bde.jp

I'm not surprised, .jp doesn't have a good penetration rate when compared to other industrialized countries.

This is for nearly 130 million inhabitants.

And .jp domains are expensive.

Just checked this with Moniker because did not trust my own tool. All free. Crazy.

But how can this bee? Compare with Poland - only 3 LLL are not taken, and the reason is this ones can by law only regged by local authorities (city abrevations list or so). No real free LLL, but Japan is more than 3 times as big.

Perhaps letter B is not popular for Japanese acronyms. Check with the other letters to see if the trend is similar.
For example I have seen that many LLL.ch available contain letter J.
