Making a living online

Just wondering how many of you make your living online? For instance, I rely on my off-line business, although I have made a good $10K from internet last year and now thinking to give it more time.

Working 6 hour days and all day saturday, i make a living on the internet. That is, however, not through one website, but many. I have a marketing firm which IS my business i spend 5 hours working for, and then i have many websites that generate a nice income. Things like HYIP make me a good 800 every week.

My tip is invest money in forums, i run over 100 which generated on average mid/high $x,xxx per month via adsense alone. If you take a loan from the bank for say $30,000 and invest it in good domains, seo, and advertisement, you can make a good profit and step up in the internet business ladder.

Things like free forum hosting and free hosting via ipanel or xpanel helps too! they too generate a good income.

What kind of forum software do you prefer and why?

Quality unique articles are worth alot.
Quality consistent users
Active admin
Unique / semi Unique topic
Good domain name
Good board software and skin

Thats what i used in most forums i opened, most forums don't get too busy, but some that do take off really take off, specially if the topic is very much in demand. I don't concentrate on the American market to much anymore, i run forums with topics like bollywood, of politics forum of middle east, asia, or an European country, defence forums, just recently i opened an emulator forum which i am working on.

Btw, one other point is always keep forums fast, a fast loading forum is a good healthy forum, i run all my sites 4 servers.

Search the web for ideas, i wouldn't like to call it stealing but there are alot of forums out there which have some really nice ideas which you may want to implement on your board too, it maybe topic, hack, design, contents.

Believe it or not, I have invested a little money into a paid to surf site and have made quite a bit of money. Not enought to make a living off of at the moment, but there are quite a few members who are. I only have a single gaming website which makes a buck or so a day, nothing to major.

I thought the more interest in your forums would be of benifit
