Making a living from domain parking

Hi everyone, this is my first post here on namepros even though I've been following this forum for over two years now.
I have some domains parked and I've been making some money with them, especially those with high epc/cpc (because 1 click or 2 in a domain of 30$ is better than 20 clicks in a domain with a cpc of 1$ – depends on the traffic too, niches, etc.)
My question here is the following [and to give me a little motivation too], does anyone here make a living exclusively from domain parking or could you live if you wanted to?
If you could complement that with some screenshots I would appreciate that ; What I'm asking is for high clicks, monthly revenue, etc.
Sorry for any mistake, I'm Portuguese (but raised in Andorra from 2 to 12 years old)
Thank you all for your generosity and transparency

BTW this is what I've made with parking in the last year, not much

Nice fat paycheck! I tried them many years ago with about 600 well aged names - many with traffic, inbound links, DA, etc. After 6 months I pulled in like 25 cents total. My goal was $10 per name per year. No way to do that after like 2009 or so.

I owned CustomHarley.com which harley davidson stole via udrp after I had it on the parking. Was only on a few days before I pulled it off as I saw Harley ads on it. I did not receive a penny of parking on it. Some months later harley came around and stole it. Was registered in 1997 and harley had not been involved in customization - only chop shops. When they entered the game, they wanted the best name and took the evil route rather than paying for it. So, lesson...parking makes it easy for reverse hijacking. Dont do it.

Indeed. I think it takes at least a year of testing
Hi

between your quote above and the one below, doesn't look like you have any patience.
cuz.... if you earned $3.50 in 1.5 months, then in 15.0 months > est. earnings would be $35.00

Well, my parking test is over! I earned 3.50USD over 1.5 month. Back to the old good Afternic and Dan landers. I think parking is dead, Indeed

I owned CustomHarley.com
Hi

even if regged in 97, as the harley brand grows, such a name becomes more associated with it.
though, sorry you lost it that way

imo...

Type of names you could make a living off (if you have enough of them). Make sure you are not breaking any laws.

1. Typos: If your domain is a typo of a very popular domain, you could earn very good parking revenue if the ads are related. Most people think they have a typo name but they don't. Typos are not what you want them to be. I would elaborate but prefer not to waste my time, you will learn from getting screwed, not from reading my honest advice.

2. Dot com domain of a popular other extension website. If idiot.xyz gets a lot of traffic and you own idiot.com you could make good money as long as the parking ads are related.

3. Domains with traffic from old links etc.

What will not make you money (not much) regardless what anybody tells you:

1. EMD domain that does not have any of the above 3 qualities. Even if your domain is Shoes.com TYPIN keyword traffic is dead. It used to be a thing, now its dead (small money).

2. Fake / bad / low quality traffic. Parking companies are not idiots and will not risk their feeds because you think that someone selling "human" adsense safe clicks on a marketplace is legit because of their reviews. Everyone complaining their parking account got banned had it coming.

Should you park names you want to sell? Yes. It doesn't matter. Serious buyers will buy the name even if it goes to a 404, they will find you. In fact, your landing page could have a photo of a horse taking a dump on a photo of the buyers wife and it still would not matter for a serious buyer, might even motivate them.

Totally agree. Especially for point number 1 and 3, that works for me.

I do have lots of traffic from "good" backlinks and also "typos" from posts, blogs, etc.

But again, thousands of backlinks doesn't mean that your domain will get thousands of visitors. Mostly zero.

So its hard.

I just wanted to try Bodis and Parking Crew. I prefer Bodis. Well, I will definitely test again, as from what I'm reading on here sales don't come from the landers, but mostly from Afternic's premium network. Is that true, Biggie?

Hi

it depends on who's sales you've been reading about.

some folks sell on sedo, some on afternic, some on dan, some thru unireg, some via email, some via their own websites, some via namejet, etc, etc.

but to me, it's not the lander... it's the actual domain in question and the price, that gets the sale done.

imo....

I'm on pace to earn 10 dollars parking a month. I'm guessing that isn't too bad in todays environment.

Developing a system that would provide original content cheap enough to attract the search engines to make parking profitable again could be a worthwhile venture. Others have tried and gone broke doing it. The key would be that word CHEAP!

Developing is the ideal way. However, to properly develop a large number of domains is not reasonable due to the scope. You do want to develop a few money sites according to your circumstances and resources. Other option is to create a portfolio site that can be monetized along with sales landers. This is over simplifying it but the point is that you have many options. You cannot make a living from parking alone, not even close, unless you have sufficient type-in traffic and that is virtually impossible unless you have premium domains. If your domains are registered recently then it makes the exercise impossible and you will be disappointed.
This was my original plan... to develop all my domains, but my domain buying got out of control, and I have a load of unfinished sites with no traffic. So you are correct, its not reasonable, if you want them to make money. I thought that it might be easier to sell the domains without developing, but they are not selling, so may go back to the original plan.

anything possible if u put the 100s of hours to learn.

and 1000s hours to master.

goes for anything in life.

I saw people on np post pics of 5fig per month... several 4fig month... and probably couple 6fig per month too

but there are imo more who won't share than who will

can u blame em.

me I make round 200 per month

but that's only cause I didnt put 100s hours into it..no other reason
..its me.. not parking

If you have time, it is worth pursuing. Easier than buying sellable names once you get the hang of it, but a lot grindier..

Did AdBlock still widely used nowadays? Most traffic now from mobile and few people using AdBlock on mobile

What a senseless declaration, almost the same as saying nothing, but worse. The whole point of communicating here is to learn from the experience of others, not to say something that is evidently obvious. This sentence is not only a waste of time to read, but to write too, why do you even write something like that?

For someone that is very concerned about wasting time, you certainly wrote all that junk when you could've used that time to acquire more worthless names.
