Just got my first mobi site up, LVH.mobi - Las Vegas Hotels. Still working on it, but I'd appreciate any good or bad comments on it, ideas for it etc. It got a 3 of 5 from the mobi tester :(. Got to get that up. It looked ok on my Blackjack, but not sure on smaller screens. Thanks in advance. :)

Yea, it is a tough call. Do you have any suggestions on how to test or track this issue for mobile seo?

Unfortunately no... Just as in the desktop search engine results, it seems to me that we'll just have to wait and see what sites do well in the search engines. From there we can start noticing different sites that rank well and then start gathering the techniques that these high ranking sites are using to attain their placement. One thing that many of you have heard and written here in the forums and that I'm a strong believer in regardless of whether good desktop search or mobile search placement is trying to be achieved is...

drum roll....

The First Mover

and not only for search engine placement but for branding. Get out there, get developing and good things will happen. I read that in the little piece of paper in my fortune cookie... I digress :|

Yeah ox, the redunancy thing did go thru my mind at the time, hence why I inverted it once :), but as scandi pointed out, the lack of content, and need for keywords did somewhat come into play at the time. Got to be quick and powerful on these small sites!! I'll play with it some more and see.

Good call on the bottom links Bucks. Will get that in there.

Who knows, some of them maybe interested in their "own" page on your site where you can click to get more info/special deals directly from your site?
...... mmmh :| '..buy a page!?!' :| :)

Nice to see a LLL owner developing instead of selling. I have plans to develop too, this should be the main priority for premium .mobi domains owners.

Nice design btw

Anytime someone takes a pic or puts words on paper they acopyright to that. You can't just take an image off the web and use it unless the person has put it in the public domain. I'm sure someone has put a picture of that sign in the public domain and if you do a search you could find it.

That being said you can go to fotolia and get the image for a buck. I do that alot when I need an image. I figure a buck is a small price to pay to the person who has taken the picture. Here is a link to fotolia for "vegas sign"

http://www.fotolia.com/search.php?k...andw=&search_only_panoramic=&cca=&ca=&p=&cou=

Honestly though, I don't know if it is legal to take a picture of the sign and use if for commercial purposes. I wouldn't expect that I could go take a picture of the golden arches and use that in a website where I am going to make money from something dealing with fast food.

Nice site by the way :gn:
Exactly.

A good source of free photos is morguefiles.com .

OP, don't wait for the owner of the photo to come knocking. Do the right thing from the beginning and use an image that you have permission to use.

Make your site mobile compliant (The whole point of .mobi). Some tips:
- Get rid of HTML tags in the body that have to do with styling. Use CSS for that instead.
- Make your CSS external.
- Always put quotation marks around attribute values.
- Define your document type.
- Your html tag is in the wrong place and you have no closing html and body tags.

Doing the above will not only increase your mobile compliancy but also your Mobi Ready Test score. :)
