Hey there, Ive literally just finished putting this together... Ive deliberately left the design plain as I dont really know what to do with it, thats partly the reason for my posting.

Im planning on adding a web-search & thesaurus (just ironing out the cranks)... what do people here think about adding an encyclopedia? Would that just be overkill?

So all in all what im after are suggestions, does a site like this *require* some sort of design or does the google-ish 'plain and simple' approach work better?

Would appreciate any and all opinions

Hi. First of all, I don't think you need a very nice template if you are making a Google type of site. Just need to make a banner I guess. Second, Thesaurus and Web Search and Encyclopedia plugins are very good. They will make your site better.

Although there are plenty of other websites which offer dictionary searches, yours seems to "just work" with a simple and clean interface. You could stop there, and say it's complete, as it does what it's ment to, but here's a few pointers:

• your HTML doesn't validate against the W3 standards, you can check this at http://validator.w3.org and fix any errors it returns;
• the scrolling favicon gets a bit annoying;
• no where on the site does it actualy explain what the site's for;
• a little bit of colour never hurt anyone, add some style to the site;
• the urls "/dictionary.aspx?id=blah" are a bit messy, if you're using Apache you can use the mod_rewrite extensions to change this to "/dictionary/blah/".
