If one doesn't exist but you can make one - let me know the $ .

I'm looking for something that I can use to give a limited number of generic usernames/passwords access to different directories based on the username/password entered.

For example, one login page:

Login.html
With the following Fields:
USERNAME:
PASSWORD:

That if you enter "Files/Getem"
it will take you to the directory "downloads"

Or if you enter "address/book"
it will take you to the directory "userlist"

Just examples, the generics would be given out to different real-world groups and short-lived, so they need to be easily editable and defined as groups and username/password combos to different directories...

If something doesn't make sense, just ask - I've been browsing hotscripts and can't find anything, and .httaccess doesn't work because I can't send the user to the appropriate directory.

Something .php would be great - but it doesn't matter to me that much...

http://www.mycgiscripts.com/cgi-bin/demo/acm/acl.cgi

The demo doesn't load correctly (Always makes me nervous ;) ), but I think this has to have a different login location destination for whatever the directory is... the key for me is the correct destination based on the username/pass entered... even if the username is the directory, for example.

Without seeing it, I'm not positive, but the .httaccess makes me think it's basically an automated management system for traditional systems... Could be wrong, however.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I'll look for a working demo elsewhere...

Thanks for the suggestions folks - rep left - but all of these are more content management for a single site with a population it's trying to manage different access levels for - none have the functionality I'm looking for - which might actually be "too easy".

I guess what I'm looking for now is a php programmer with about 30 minutes spare time, if I had to guess... And let me know a price.

A while back I wrote a role-based authentication system similar to what you're asking for.

I was up with insomnia last night so I spent a couple of hours modifying (and simplifying) it into what I think you want.

PM sent.
