It's pink, although various colours are available. It's meant to represent the five continents, and the shape is meant to be a jagged style "2012". But lets be honest...turn your head to the left, and it looks like a cartoon hand job, turn it to the right, it looks like a cartoon blow job.

It looks like complete rubbish. That is truly disgusting, especially for an event of such magnitude.

But here's the kicker, guess how much this baby cost? £100? £200?

£400,000 (that's over $800,000!!)...

its ridiculous isnt it :td:

£400,000 worth of tax payers money no doubt...plus another thing that really annoys me is that Scottish taxpayers have to pay towards the London olympics! >:(

If i remember correctly the bulk of the money is actually coming from London tax payers,

In fact I have just found a backup:-

The Mayor and the Government have agreed a public funding package of up to £2.375 billion to help meet the costs of staging the Olympic games in London in 2012.

The first £2.050 billion of the funding package will be met from up to £1.5 billion from the lottery and up to £550 million from London Council Tax, which would cost the average London household (Band D) £20 a year or 38p a week.

SOURCE

As usual however the government seem intent on wasting money.

Reminds me of a story about a university who commissioned a company to find them a new name and all they came up with is (town name wrong)

The university of Cambridge
Cambridge university
the Cambridge university

that cost '00,000's and they actually paid the company for it.

Matthew, do you always look for sexual acts in logos? :p

I must say, I am disappointed. I am very proud that the UK is hosting the games, but the logo couldn't be worse IMO.

Apparently, according to a BBC radio broadcast I heard earlier, this is the final design so it looks like we're stuck with it :td:

Pure rubbish. I think the poll on the BBC site speaks for itself. 90% of voters give a big thumbs down to the logo, whereas 2% give it a thumbs up.

Sad. As a logo designer this is pretty disgusting.

doesn't even look like 2012 or continents.

yeah its hard to read if I wasn't told what it was I would have no idea as to what it is. You really think they'd do better than that, because, the majority of people could do that in MS Paint within 10 minutes. It's not that hard to. It's plain and just horrible especially if it cost $400,000.
