HI All...

I remember.... back in 2004 I was watching the prices of LLL.com go up and I could buy LLL.net in back order for 200-300 now you can't get a good one for under 1k

I think in 1-2 year you will not be able to get a LLLL.com for under 500$-1k$ for a good one... and I think in 3-5 years... LLLL.net will be min 500$ for a good letter one....

So My Question is are you buying your LLLL.net now....

I know I am..

Thanks
Tom Dahne

I've got a handful of cvcv.net's, purchase the odd one when and if they drop.. but really haven't been keeping a watch on the LLLL.net market.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd only go for acronyms, abbreviations or words that would fit well with a dot-net.

Just because it's short doesn't mean it's worth a dime. Eventually, these need to be sold to end users or be parked and earn more than registration fee.

My gut feeling is that it is too early unless you pick well.

~50% of LLLL.net are regged now.

~50% of LLLL.com were regged in 2002.

Try to only pick names that the LLLL.com sells for mid $XXX on the reseller market, not just random premium LLLL.net or random pronounceables.

I think the rule of ~1/8th of the .com counterpart may apply for LLLL.net/.com as it already happens for LLL.net/.com
In many markets, especially in asia, .net is considered more or less at the same level of the .com, in terms of popularity, and many IT companies use the .net domain to better define the field of their businesses.

In the aftermarket, at the moment I would suggest to only buy cvcv.nets (sold out a couple of months ago) and good lettered pronunciables. The price of this kind of domains is still accessible, and considering for how much pronunciable 4 letters dot coms are going nowadays, I'm quite sure same quality llll.nets have some to catch up, definately strong buys.

Otherwise, you might try to fresh-register some pronunciables (if you find some of em) and hold for 1-2 years, i'm positive that it is a good bet.

I've been buying for some time, especially in the aftermarket, now prices are a bit higher but I'll continue to buy while not-so-many people are looking at them :)

What constitues a good LLLL and a very good one? There are some premiums fetching those prices now, what do you expect they will garner in a year or two?

No, I do not think that buying LLLL.net is just right. The problem is that .Com will stay .Com and will beat .net and every extension in the next 5 years and people will got after LLLLL.com instead of LLLL.net but this is just me. Others might have different opinions. :)

a lot end users are using .net when the .com is registered..
but when .net is registered.. the endusers will highly likely email the .com owner n ask how much.. n if too high then maybe .net.. but normally they wud opt for .com

I've grabbed a half dozen or so all-premium LLLL.nets. I'm hoping they'll be worth as much as some of the lower quality LLLL.coms in the future.

That was such a big sale because hulu.com recently launched. By itself the name would have some value because it's a CVCV.net, but nowhere near $1250 IMO.

One sale does not predict a market. Remember that.

I know. I was trying to say that hulu.net was a big exception when it comes to .net values because its sale price was influenced in large part by the launch of hulu.com.
