Do you always say things as a fact when you dont know if its true? Global top 500 #201 dada.net, #257 AEBN.net
Yeah I got tired of viewing after page 2. Sorry..shouldn have been more diligent.
However you completely dismiss how I mentioned the quantity of 5L's in Alexa top 500.
I had some listed when my browser crashed.
I brought in LLLL.com's because they are closer to LLLL.nets than 5L's are. We have obvious correlations of CCC.com to CCC.net, LLL.com to LLL.net, and now LLLL.com to LLLL.net. Overall the value isn't significant percentage wise. It's less than 10%. So as LLLL.com's are near $30-$50 resale one can assume the LLLL.net is reg fee. LLL.com is $8k and LLL.net is about 10% of that at $800. So you hopefully see how I base my opinion.
I don't see how you draw your conclusions though.
Not every company would be able to acquire .com domains so why would they not settle for the 2nd most popular extension?
I don't agree. You can view sales charts to see the trend of what's being sold...it's dot coms. Again...look to Alexa to see how popular dot com is.
I don't think you are hyping LLLL.net's but I think this thread is about "LLLL.net or LLLLL.com if you could only pick one"...I think the logical discussion is based on how you decide which is better. I think 5L's are and I state my reasons.
I never made the argument that a startup would seek a .net first, doesnt mean they'll shell out big bucks for mupow.com though.
I haven't said 5L's will command "big bucks" but on that same note...a company isn't going to pay a premium for LLLL.net either. And if both were the same price...I can guarantee they will choose the brandable 5L over a cruddy LLLL.net which they can't even correlate into their business.
You mention Visa.net. That's pronouncable and is closer to quality with a 5L. 5Ls are only valuable imho if brandable and pronouncable. gzqex.com is crap just the same as zqex.net. However one serious benefit of 5L's is that there are plenty to still grab that are pronouncable. That leaves a lot of room for upside. I picked mine up between reg-fee and $40. I have already sold a few for mid $xxx too.
