New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

I love the letter Y in LLLL.net's.
Stuff like ty, sy, fy, hy are all really great combos. Followed by b, s and other "Plosive" letters it can make some bloody awesome combination's!

syzo.net was my best, such an awesome pronounceable!

LOL

I doubt Reece will buy any of those, really. :)

Nor will I BTW...

Do you base everything you do off Reece?

Y is a good letter in the 2nd and 4th position if it makes the domain pronounceable.

Chill it guys.. We don't want any mini-riots occurring amongst us 4L.net lovers, eh? :)

I admire Reece as he was one of the "visionaries" who propagated short domains but blindly following him is a tad too much (not saying any of you does)

I made the remark *hint to Reece* in jest and didn't realize some of you would take it a bit too seriously.

I also fall in with Jason, as at the end of the day, following your gut-feel is the way to go.

I guess my bad English didn't make it clear.

I also also joking with this.

Also I didn't say I wouldn't buy because Reece wouldn't, I said he won't and me neither, but those are not related, otherwise I wouldn't be buying domains from him atm :p

LOL, well, not quite, it's just a 6th sense that tells me no1 would be selling quad premiums to buy junk. :)

Y can mean a lot of things...
Yahoo makes it sound like an "I"
In Spain, yes, in America, it has a "Y" sound.
yaaah-hoo
It's an interesting sound, but a unique one, at least in english
But you bring up a great point about international pronunciation

Same happens in portuguese.

We pronounce Q as K.... :)

I think the most obvious pronunciation should be kept as a reference (maybe British English?)
"Q" is pronounced "kw" or even "K' in some words.

If you saw: QICK it would be pronounced KICK
If you saw QUICK it would be pronounced as KWICK

Hopefully it pays off. I've spent around $500 investing in these. I had to borrow $400 from my parents. I'll probably sell most of it off in a year, and keep the repeating all premiums like PPBB, FGGF, and LCCL.

Yeah, llll.nets are getting hot again.

Seems like there are way more aftermarket domains being bought than new ones registered. The remaining domain count hasn't gone down in a couple weeks.
To me, the "Oh My Gosh, I must buy these before they sellout" is long over, and it may be a long haul for those in the numbers game.
The only money that many will see is selling to "flippers" who will eventually see their profit margins drop significantly.
Hopefully with some of the bigger players making end user sales, development of these names will pick up and the quads and pronounceables will distance themselves from the rest of the field.
So no, I don't think they are getting hot, at least I don't see registrations getting hot.
