New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

IMO, the domainers interested, see that the 456k+ combos of LLLL.nets have been shrinking at a much quicker pace than expected.

Similar to all markets, you find value in the other items in the "water".
If you see the open market prices (tdnam, ebay, etc), you are seeing the value already increase.

I think the bigger question is the time frame to wait. Some want that quick 50-100% return on an initial reg, while others want to wait the 6-18 months to get the 3-8x return. More risk in the waiting, but a better return if it pans out.

Another good reason to get a bead on aftermarket prices by selling a few from time to time is that it can provide a reality check to help guide buying decisions as well.

Yes, it is quite interesting to watch the market trend of the .NET's

I'll be using a simple strategy here...

Part of my .NET's will pay for the all investment, what lasts will stay for longer as a profit. Even if I loose all I lose nothing. :)

nothing but time, pride, and opportunity ... But if you're anything like me, you've got a surplus of all of the above!

:sold:

Though I don't think you'll see a loss in any of those areas (except possibly time - that's the one thing you can't get back!)

Adding another "reason to test the waters" - it's damn interesting sometimes to see how quickly these markets shape up - appeals to the "pricing theory" analysis wonk in me.

But bottom line really is - if I know I can sell a good LLLL.net right now for $15 or whatever - I'm a lot more likely to make an effort to register a few more good ones for $6, and and will be a bit quicker to buy even better ones on the aftermarket if the price is right ....

Too bad I did not have enough funds to bid today. Too many purchases recently.

I stopped at $420 :(
