LLLL.net sold my first I regged in the lat few weeks. Sent a few emails out to owners of the .com version of my LLLL.nets
1st responded and paid 28 bucks sent 10 emails as a test

I don't really see the point you're trying to make.

Nothing is worthless if pitched right, at the right time, right place and to the right people.

5Ls are also doing well. I could have sold my entire lot for $50 ea. - decided to keep some and the buyer backed out from the rest... whose loss I don't know but later that week I sold one for 4 figurs, so all good.

But 4L is whole different kettle of fish. 5L might be chosen by a web 2.0 company thats just being launched viz. imodo and bodis, but 4L acros are common as company names all over the world. I regret not having booked mspl (my company acro) in .com when I had the chance, now I think it will cost me $450 min.

I'm sorry but your post makes no sense, it just makes you sound bitter about not having invested in LLLL.com last year or even LLLL.net now coz you're invested in 5L. I really hope thats not the case.

I don't see why people like to rain on other people's parade and its done more on NP. The .com guys hate the .net guys, the .net the .org and they all hate the .mobi guys... ad nauseam - why bother, get a bit of each pie, its called hedging, make your ROI and move on, how an extension or even a type of domain does matters less than what profit you make. At least it does for me.

Then to see Dot Net coming in to the same equation, As LLLL.com has been going through in this forum, for a year and half, I find it comical as hell, Sorry but i do.

So let me make sure I understand ... you bought and sold "junk" 2 years ago? How did that work out for you? Any regrets about not paying the extra $14 to (plus opportunity costs) to keep them until now? (Not a rhetorical question by the way, I'm assuming the answer might be "no regrets, found a more profitable area to invest in the meantime.")

My problem with that last statement is that there are plenty of LLLL.com domains being sold that are not by any measure junk. (And as for the rest, they prefer to be called anti-premium people ... ) So if you can't see what's going on in the broader market ... well "none so blind" and all that. A bit short-sighted, at least. IMO.

I'm pretty sure (in fact, have now confirmed) that one of my own "bought and sold for less than $100" LLLL.com domains that you might call junk ended up with an end user - a trademark attorney, for whatever that's worth ...

Maybe just the tip of the iceberg ...

I've got a few more that I'm holding for eventual sales to end users. "Bad letters" and all .... Those are just the ones that I picked up on when other domainers missed the opportunity to buy them cheap. Go figure .... One man's trash, another man's treasure. And all that.

No problem with a little comedy, that's fine with me. Some of us are going to be laughing all the way to the bank though, you can bet on that .... Others might end up buying willy-nilly and then selling their "junk" LLLL.net a year or 2 too soon. Go figure!

But agreed, there's a bit of a buyout frenzy going on, and that's a wierd vibe when overdone. What are you going to do though? You see a stampede of bulls coming your way, you want to stand in the middle of the street saying "stop, this will never catch on!" .... Because apparently it already has caught on, like it or not.

And the end users are already there. They just don't know it yet.

Whatever anybody thinks of the LLLL-hypes, for me it's simple, and I like to keep things simple.

I am making profit on these kind of names (LLLL.com and maybe later LLLL.net). I don't mind if my profit is $10,- or $500,- , as long as I don't hurt anyone with my business, I am in it for the profit.

Even here at NamePros, we are an ever growing global community. Really take a look at who is buying these LLLL's; it's not just Americans. This is a world wide buy out; I can't imagine not being able to see that. You're not buying into the western economy when buying a domain name; you're buying into the global economy. They try to teach this in economics, but very few people can see the correlation with domain names; and that’s fine by me.

If you were around in 2004, then you caught the tail end of the LLL craze. Back then, as is now, there were members here screaming, "No." If you can't see that the internet has grown, and the growth numbers are in synch with the LLL's to LLLL’s, then you just don't see it; and I'm guessing you didn't see the LLL's back then. I didn't see the LLL's being worth anything back then; but we must admit, that looking back, LLL's, were an incredible investment.

This time it's so different, this LLLL investment is being backed by worldwide money. People say, “Wall Street isn’t watching.” But any series 7 dude will tell you, “Big money follows large groups of small money.” Big Money doesn't have to create, all they have to do, is watch; and there are a lot of people watching.

When so many people begin to gather around the edge of a pool, it's only a matter of time before they start putting their feet in the water, to test the waters. Right now, it's the world's toe causing this ripple in the pool; and when everyone gets comfortable enough, someone's going to do a cannonball. It happens every time a large group of people gather around a pool.

They got it half right years ago when they imagined the internet surge as a wave in the ocean; it’s really a wave in a pool. It takes the whole world, to make the world wide web, work. If the current condition of the market makes you laugh, they’re going to put you in the nut house, when 100+ million more people come online.

As far as the "does buyout mania hurt anybody" question ... The concern I hear is that newbies and other impressionable types might jump in and overbuy (or overpay in the aftermarket) ... expecting to be able to flip for 300% ROI next week ... etc. (While the scheming manipulators fueling the mania behind the scenes cash in and cash out at everyone elses expense - ie, "pump and dump" ...) When Reece started this thread, I posted a comment asking him how much Bob Parsons had payed him to start this new flood of ill-advised registrations .... joking! But, what are you going to do?

People getting into domaining really better be able to think for themselves when necessary - and also to recognize where the market's going, especially once it becomes as obvious as LLLL.com (and, real soon now, LLLL.net).

People who bought in before LLLL.com started to look like more of a sure thing were able to pick up valuable names at reg fee. People who waited longer were satisfied to let other people take on the "pioneer" risk until the trend became clear - now they're coming on board (with a lot more money) to partake of their share of the likely rewards yet to come.

From what I've learned so far, a big part of successful domaining seems to be knowing how to play the waiting game, and then being ready and able to move quickly when the time is right. Seems to me like the time is right for picking out a few good LLLL.net now ....

LLLL.com rose from $7 to $70 in 3 months. Why don't you think they can continue to rise? Currently there was a premium LLLL.net buyout (Feb 1-5) plus the Chineese New Year (Feb 7). Still, the prices are strong, see TDNAM sales of last few days!

With all premium LLLL.net bought out, premium LLLL.com will rise even more strongly, to the level of unpremium LLL.com (as Reece said before). The result - this will drag the whole LLLL.com market upwards.

$800 for a standard LLLL.com. Does it sound exaggerated? No, it is another 10 times rise we expreienced in last 3 months.

If you look at the capitalisation of the LLLL.com (4L) market, it is less than capitalisation of LLL.com (3L) market. Stil, with more domains, and more participants, this market is much more liquid and is attracting and will attract more money, from students to bankers, from private persons to large fonds (I saw some fonds investing in LLLL.com already, see for example hamidicapital.com (xdcz.com, etc).

And people will only continue to put money in LLLL market. It is global, it is not depending on only one country which may fall into resession. and it is .com. There are almost no barriers to entry, you can start trading with low amounts, you do not have to register a company, employ people, learn programming, choose design, pass exams, etc.

Previously the domain market was not really standartised. What is the price of domainwasteland.com or hotnewthreads.com (names being auctioned now). With LLL.com/net some standards arise, but the number of LLL domains was unsufficient to create a functioning market with good liquidity.

With LLLL (.com, .net) we have functioning market, with standartised prices for domains (CVCV, VCVC, Premium, tripple+w, tripple +q, antipremium, etc, every category having its current market price). Easy to evaluate, easy to monitor, easy to sell. Easy to arbitrage (thats what flippers do ).

Exactly that caused great rise in LLLL.com prices, not the hype but the possibility to have a commodity which is possible to trade! Oil exchanges function perfectly, with different types of oil (similar to LLLL.com) being traded. You do not have any real exchanges for diamonds (similar to LLL.com) or ships (other domains).

Thus more and more money will come to this business lifting prices up dramatically. LLLL.com will be the first choice, LLLL.net will follow (at a 5-10% of .com). But it will be a substantial, steep, dramatic rise.

And I will not be surprised to see a $800 price for any LLLL.com quite soon. Not at all.
