New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

It seems that the train has slowed quite a bit... Nothing liek the crazyness we saw on Saturday - That was a pure buying frenzy! :o

while reece and ID have some great insight, this market is moving very quickly. As with any moving market, no individual / organization can forcast the end value. Time will tell.

Buy, Vault, Dont fight the market.....
Sort of like the giants yesterday ;)

Yeah, but seeing experts like Reece and ItalianDragon speaking out against LLLL.nets does scare me a little but in the end, I have personal conviction in LLLL.nets all the more if they are pronounceable.
If the LLLL.com market crashes (highly unlikely) then LLLL.nets have almost zero potential so we are taking a BIG risk.

For the record,

1) I didn't sell my LLLL.coms because I don't believe in the market. You'll find that every post on 4 Letter Noob is very positive about the future outlook of LLLL.coms. Liquidity was very important for me as I do have a "hidden agenda" that I've only let 2 NPers in on... By selling at a discounted rate (even compared to prices 2-3 weeks ago), I was able to offload over 60k worth of LLLL.coms between only 4 buyers. This "convenience" was worth it to me and I have no regrets looking back. I also wanted to give LLL.com arbitrage a try and am happy to say it's working out quite nicely for me so far (buying LLL.coms isn't really any different than buying LLLL.coms, just a couple zeroes more on the purchase prices :hehe: ).

2) I created this thread... I'm hardly anti-LLLL.net. I've advised that I believe LLLL.coms are currently a better investment than LLLL.nets, however I share the same sentiment as most of you here that LLLL.nets are going to be huge in the future. I just think that ROI-wise it might have been smarter to buy them for $10-$15 per 6 months down the road and have invested your money in LLLL.coms now. Assuming you're regging them at Godaddy (@ $6.99), you're only making about a 100% profit if you resell them at $15.. To me, that's not even worth the time and effort of purchasing them..

Reece and ItalianDragon are the same experts as all we are. E.g. they are the same domainers as we are with their own prognosis and believes. (p.s. as far as I remember Reece sold about 1000 LLLL.com domains just two-three weeks ago. and could get 30k more for them now...). The main niches that can give you huge profits those that are greatly underpiced now. LLLL.coms were greatly underpriced in comparison with LLL.coms 3 months ago and now the Result! LLLL.nets are currently underpriced in comparison with LLLL.coms and LLL.nets and will be gaining their value. Perhaps slower than .com which is king but they will do it because proportion between .com and .net will be always because it's natural. There are people that invest $xxxx in domain names for the project and there are always people that can invest not more than $xxx for a comparable name but in .net

Writing in a forum with tens of posts on similar topics gets a bit confusing. So let`s clear:

1) I thought that LLLL.net was not a wise investment right now but I changed my mind since the number of Premium ones decreased 10 times faster than what I expected. Plus, in the mean time LLLL.com prices are increasing faster than what I expected too, so that was enought to justify Premium LLLL.net being valuable and when I say valuable I mean at least $50 each.

2) I advised Reece many times to keep his LLLL.com for at least 2 years but he has decided to follow another strategy, that is his decision.

Lorenzo even sent me pms trying to convince me not to sell :D

He's right -- LLLL.coms still are hot and will continue to be hot imho. I just picked up a very nice LLL.com for 7k today, bought one yesterday for 8,4 with 2 B's in it and have a 30k bid on Sedo on another one... I've wanted to get a stake in the LLL.com market for a long time but my finances held me back until I started offloading my LLLL.coms... I still have about 100 including several quad premiums, VCVCs, triple letters, a quad vowel (no Y) and a couple CVCVs. Value-wise, I still have about 15-20k in the LLLL.com market and will be putting a bit more back in sometime in the future.

Indeed. There's alot more risk associated with any investment in LLLL.nets (regardless of quality) than there is in LLLL.coms. If we want to take a history lesson here, lets just compare LLL.com prices to LLL.net prices, or LL.com prices to LL.net prices. Only the most premium of the most premium of .nets will even fetch more than 1/3 (reseller pricing, obviously) of what the worst .coms fetch..

What does this mean for the future of LLLL.net? Well, it means that if LLLL.coms fall even moderately in value, it'll quickly wipe out any value your LLLL.net has accumulated.

Also, consider this:

An imaginary company: RDNS -- Reece's Domain Name Shop . If I can't afford that, what honestly will make me reg RDNS.net over say RQDN.com -- Reece's Quality Domain Names?

Will be interesting to see how the future plays out. I'm not invested in this market, but I do believe it has potential.

Got what I think were the last 3 easy pronounceables there, at least Quad Premiums.

LHIF.NET
LHEF.NET
LHIB.NET

In any case I'll rescan them again as the system halted in the middle. :)

I don't get why people are getting scared after a couple weeks because of the naysayers.

If you got in this market for a quick flip I think you will have a tough time. If you got in this market with a plan and a longer term view you will be fine IMO.

Never invest what you aren't willing to loose, never switch horses at mid stream. :)

As I see, more than 50 are gone already. And no one is reporting it here. Looks like some people silently stocking up the names trying to avoid publicity

Im not sure if there are that many even worried, I think most here will hold for around 6 months or more to get some decent value out of them...I just keep wondering what could possibly happen if I locked all my LLLLs away for 5 years then sold 1 at a time :))

I was considering keeping mine for a couple of years, would seem the best way to make a return on the investment! It might just be my noob point of view though :yell:

Im up for it...Ill spend the next few months getting my hands on as many as possible, and hold for years to come and see what happens...I could be a millionaire (or I could be an idiot ;))

Edit: Changed my mind renewal fees would bankrupt me by year 3 haha
