Yep, that's true, but we're watching 400-500 regs everyday, which means that in 1 year and a half all will be gone (I expect sooner than later), and, we're running out of quality these days, it's getting harder and harder to find pronounceables, quad premiums are gone, decent trip premiums are almost gone too, CVCV including Y and other bad laters are shorter than 500, so...

I wasn't realising that, 400-500 a day, that's a lot, isn't it?

:imho: it's good, I just keep following the total number of available LLLL's and the number drops by the lot everyday.

When we reach under 100k I guess the reg speed will increase, and the last 20-25k will be gone in a couple of days.

But this is just my opinion...

If you reg a good one now for like $6.20 and even renew it in 12months.. your total cost will be like $14 max per domain... that will give you until this time in 2010 and if you don't think you can sell that domain for a 100% profit by then .... you are in the wrong place.

I know the 250+ I have bought so far... I will make at least 100% profit... but I think closer to like 300%+

Better then leaving my money in the bank...

Yes That is cheap...but I like Godaddy.. Was getting them for $6.20

But that was with a discount coupon...

Sorry not sure where you want to get them, if you can get them for $6 or under go for it...

I will post more domains I think are worth more then reg fee soon...

I have one thing to say - BE CAREFUL - you may be wasting your money and time. I speak from experiencing both phenomenal successes and pathetic failures

.net domain names are ugly and unappealing - can you name ONE well known website which uses .net ? oh , i can actually , php.net

ugly? yes because your company address has to look good, sexy, successful, smart, etc. etc. you don't go on a date wearing last year's shoes ..

IF I had an online private jet booking firm I would not use pjet.net as my domain name in a million years. even though it is pronounceable and rhymes.

just because they very occasionally sell does not mean the rest are worth anything. if you caught a salmon in a puddle would you assume there were more salmon in there? no of course not. in mathematics it is called a discontinuity, many things in the world can not be represented by nice lines on a graph.

what is the answer? be more creative people. the whole LLLL thing is a .com phenomena - why do you assume it will apply to .net? After all .nets are not a new thing ...

so what would I call my jet company? i would get the best .com I could afford .. or invent a new word just like in the 'old' days - brandnames!! and just like google did. And spend the rest of the money on advertising.

And if you are simply looking for PPC names then good luck - that industry's days are numbered IMHO.

And for non-commercial websites - who cares? the domaining industry is solely reliant on e-commerce , no?

Maybe one day there will be only one ultimate TLD - just a . http://privatejethire. Not sure if a technical possibility but .com is basically acting as that TLD right now. It is perceieved as the top - and nothing else will do.

The only exception is in countries with confidence in their own internet industry. In the UK I believe a .co.uk name will now have a similar value to .com - it was not always like that - when they first appeared they were definately second best. Same story in france and germany. In fact there is some evidence of anti-.com feeling in many countries - all the spam, phishing, fraud, scams are associated with ".com". And .net!

Just my opinion, of course.

Regarding a successful .net site, I use SF.Net too, but that does not change the issue much.

As you said, .net is not end user appealing, I would never brand my company using a .net. Period. If people feel ok registering domains that have only "acronym potential" in not a good tld, then go ahead, and think of renewals too.

There will be some LLLL.net sales of course. but mainly they will go from one domainer to another. 30 end user random LLLL.net sales in a year, does not convince me to gamble in such a volatile high risk market, as there are far better investments in domaining today.

But of course this is just my opinion, I hope all my fellow members will be very successfull in their .net sales.
