This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

...I would have thought these ones were more likely to be expired names - or do all LLLL.net expireds get picked up by one of the dropcatchers?

Every single domain is picked up when it expires (drops).
I thought you were answering my question, saying that all expired names get picked up by dropcatchers. In which case they wouldn't be available to hand reg. If they can't be hand-regged then they can't be tasted and deleted/refunded.

jweb.net said:
Why does a domain have to drop 20 times to be a taster drop?
If all expired LLLL.nets (or at least the good ones like you're regging) were picked up by dropcatchers (which if I understand correctly now isn't the case), then the only way these could be taster drops is if they were first tasted before the prem buyout, and were tasted in an endless cycle since then...

Make sense? (hope so cause this is giving me a headache... :cy: )

The domains that no one bids on at tdnam (taster), where do they end up?

The good ones end up in glabnet's portfolio, I think, and the bad ones are carted off into the existential void... :)

But seriously, I would guess the ones no one bids on are probably dropped and free to hand reg... But TDNAM is not a taster so these are not taster drops.

Well they are, they are picked up to taste the market to see if they have value to sell.

Tasting doesn't always have to mean taste for traffic.

TDNAM was only an example, there are others that also taste for traffic.

Okay, I think that's what confused me. I think of tasting differently. In any case, the names your getting were expired names picked up by a taster or auction house and then dropped again (because of no traffic or didn't get any bids...). Then you can hand reg them because the major dropcatchers aren't after them anymore... Is that about right?

You deserve more than that! BTW, I was kidding about them ending up in your portfolio ~ you've been more than generous in spreading the wealth from your scans. I, like many here, are in your debt for some great finds. :great:

But yeah, glab is one mighty fine member.

We're glad that you're fond of this member, but please give some rep points to some other members before giving it to glabnet again.

Sorry to say, but I think you were mistaken. It's not listed in the Urban Dictionary http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ilyx

I also couldn't find anything in a Google search.

Yeah, i know about http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ily and i've seen a lot of people add "x" to the end.

You can see in the example : @ http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ily It says "Hey your space is wicked! Comment back ,ily x""

I guess I got mixed up thinking it was a "proper" term. Oh well, i like it so maybe i can develop it :D
