This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

*Hangs head* I didn't realise that Moniker is cheaper than GoDaddy for registering .nets... (I get $7.44 .coms and $6.04 .nets with Moniker).

Quite annoying that I registered my 100 all-premiums at GoDaddy - I could have saved myself a massive $12 in reg fees ;)
I registered about all my LLLL.net (more hundred) on Name.com for $5.99 :)

Just a quick scanning update (my internet is slowly getting a bit better..), I've scanned the first 100k domains (out of my available list of 212k available) and 750 have gone so far.

Will keep you posted, and hopefully get a new (full) list up later tonight or tomorrow.

If you can get a wholesale account at Fabulous they beat them all at $4.95 each for .net's. They also have an awesome back end for managing your domains and give you some really great stats, reports etc. I definitely recommend going with them if you can get a wholesale account.

The rate will ebb and flow, no doubt, but I have a feeling it won't take nearly that long.

At the current rate, yes. However I can't see it taking more than 24 months really.

I am guessing end of this year when a couple big players jump in.

I beg to disagree. I think the n00bs are goingt o complte the sellout, the big players aren't interested in QJXK.net, and those will be all that is left. The big players will come after our domains, those of us that own anything decent.

It could be a big player who has tons of premiums who buys out the trash so their better stuff increases in value.

Supply and demand bro. Plus as it starts to get really low everyone will be buying cause they don't want to get left out in the cold.

Exactly right jweb - I also expect that registrations will go quite a bit quicker after reaching the 100k mark :)

Tristan's original estimate of an year and 10 months seemed right but now it's more like one year and 6 months if more people keep on jumping in.
