New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

Am in the process of running another scan (not ready yet)... unless the 56k are from q onwards, I doubt this is true ;) Nah, zoki has put up an explanation - good to get that one sorted out.

EDIT: My internet's playing up loads, so the scan for (at least today) is off; sorry all.

To clear that:

- Its not hype
- Its just mistake

I receive avaible lists from Tristan, and during transfer there was some error,
so only ~ 150000 of them were transfered.
(I will look today evening where error was)
So 'anonymous' guy is not guilty, he only gave what he found on my site.
My error :( ... sorry

To tell the truth, I would not be at all surprised to see something like this actually happen. It would be a shrewd move for a domain investor w/deep pockets. Buy up the next best 50K available ~ or maybe the best 30K and then another 1K a week for 20 weeks or so to seriously prime the pump of the LLLL.net buyout. This would likely do 2 things: 1) start a feeding frenzy in the LLLL.net market, radically expediting the buyout, and 2) raise the value of LLLL.nets both before and (of course) after the buyout. The value would go up simply as a function of less supply and greater demand ~ not to mention all the hype such a development would produce.

A $250K investment could very plausibly be doubled (at least) in under a year.

If I had the dough to do it I would take a stab at a few k of them for sure.

It wouldn't take but $250k to register 50k .net's. That isn't that much money, nobody comment on that... it really isn't.

You could buyout LLLL.net with a million bucks.

I hate doing math. It creates urgency and makes me buy more. :D

I am going to talk to a couple of real estate investors I know. See if they have any want to get in when I throw a couple figures out there. :D

That is exactly the point, anyone with some spare cash (to be honest a million bucks is what some guys spend on a good weekend) could easily buy all those out and resell for double or triple price in 3 months...

Anyone? Warren Buffet? Are you listening to me?

You guys crack me up with your hopes of having them sell out so that you can increase the value of the ones you own :)
I did my part, I posted a thread about it on DP to generate some buzz :)

**At 6k per month we're going towards 33 months, even though I expect end of 2009 for the buyout**
Buyouts don't usually stay at the same rate. As we saw with premium LLLL.nets, it started going a lot faster towards the end. As we get closer to the LLLL.net buyout I think we will see that they will start going faster.

I agree. Once LLLL.coms and L-L-L.coms start to seriously appreciate and other buyouts like LL-L.com and L-LL.com end, attention will increasingly turn to LLLL.nets. Also there is now a "buyout" mindset in the domaining industry; for the most part buyouts are fun and people like to participate. Couple that with the fact that BOTH the domaining industry AND the population of potential endusers is growing by leaps and bounds (or so I've read - I don't have any data to support that) bringing new money and more and more domain buyers into the business everyday ... and it's not hard to imagine the LLLL.net buyout happening MUCH quicker than the pace of previous buyouts.

With or without a deep-pocket investor scooping up 50K of them.

Maybe we all should start publishing software under all our anti-premium LLLL.nets... instant upgrade! Maybe a downloadable screen-saver: full-color spreads of short-name domainers... :snaphappy:

Would be cool if we could get some sort of network together and link like 100k or so 4l.nets.
