LLLL.com in the near future

A bit over 2 months now since LLLL.com buyout. Now how many people are renewing their names? Quite a lot. Typically we see 80 drops per day. In the coming month, the estimate is about 50 drops per day.

The 455 drop day on Jan 21 was due to the deletion by nicco and pretty much all the above 100 days recently are due to the drop from him. This guy has nothing much for almost half year in the future.

With slow registration at the early 2007, which contributes most to the drop, a much tighter supply is forecasted for the coming couple of months.

And Jan is typically slow month for domains, at least as experienced by me for the last year. We will see much more competition soon.

So hold on tight. The fun is just starting.

Why on earth would someone knowingly drop domains that are worth $35 and (way) up each? I have assumed that drops are mostly due to lack of knowledge of a domain's value - or lack of knowledge of a doimain's existance in the case of death and corporate changes.

i personally knew that domains were an item of limited supply and growing interest and usage worldwide. i bought some.... and then i taught myself to program html (and others) so i could make some pages. there,,,, done...

i had some VERY nice domains, some pages that generated nothing, and i was still happy.... i changed isp's a few times, and honestly forgot all about the domains. little by little you miss a renewal date and pretty soon they are gone.

this sounds odd to most who read it because if you have found this forum you now know about affiliate income and ppc. but ten years ago those of us outside the computer industry had no idea what to do with a domain if we bought one. i am only starting to discover what i should be doing....

i recently purchased a domain that i had lost two years earlier.... i sold it a month later for 300+ dollars profit. i just wish i still had those lll.coms (jk)....

Reece's January 24th price guide pegs mininum wholesale at $33 ...

Yesterday I sold 2 "mini-bulk" lots of 3 LLLL.com each on eBay - one went for $115, the other went for $125 ... so from my perspective, $33 is even a bit low now. Though maybe you can find a few motivated sellers on the forums - you'll really need to beat the bushes and beat off the competition to pickup anything much under $40 now ...

edit - sorry, just re-read your post - you're asking about premium LLLL.com wholesale ... I sure wouldn't know!

Min wholesale on a quad premium is about $250. Most quad premiums can get $300 offers relatively easily with a little marketing on the owner's part (listing acronyms, explaining why it's worth it,...)

Min wholesale on any LLLL.com is about $35 now (triple premiums ~ $55-$140 depending on the letter [prices Q through W] for non-pronounceables). Prices increase much too quickly for my guides to stay 100% accurate for long, however I don't think prices will increase so quickly as to make my guide grossly underpriced come the next report on February 8th. Use the guide as a reference, but it certainly is not meant to suggest anyone should sell their names for such prices.

Take the minimum wholesale listed in my guide as a recommendation to buy anything you can find at this price, not as suggested reseller pricing for a rapidly appreciating asset.

Yes. I had made the first guide at the beginning of January and as you said -- 2 weeks later it was outdated. I'll continue releasing 2 guides per month until prices start rising a bit slower.

I've been selling some of mine in big time bulk (100+) and as Ergo just indicated, it isn't hard to find people paying $40 per even in that kind of quantity.

The price guide was released on January 24th and prices have went up a bit since then. It's important to remember that $33 was the minimum price, as in if you were to check eBay, TDNAM, Snapnames, Namepros, other domain name forums, etc, that this is likely the lowest price you'd ever be able to find.

i let few dropped last year also
less than 10 of it.. never tot the buyout came so soon than i expected
now i am getting so many lowball offers on my LLLL.coms from sedo, tdnam, etc
some even offer me 60 usd on sedo. after 50usd fees from sedo which leaves me to 10 usd only.. find it really funny if anyone wud sell for that price..

I just accepted a $60.00 offer for my sugp.com in Sedo to put it into auction. You don't have to sell it for that price, unless of course nobody bids it up in the 7 days of the auction.

If you park the name at Sedo before a auction starts you only pay a small percentage of the sale.

my friends have many llll.com , he tells to keep at least one in hand.
similar road as the lll.com ie value increase if supply meets zero ,
or no one will release it easily.
