I am wondering about this and would like to know your opinions on LLL1.coms
I would think that these could be very good domains, yet surprisingly there are quite a few available.Do you think that alot of these could be (or should be)worth more than alot of the LLLL.coms?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I don't see them as being more valuable than a lot of the LLLL.coms unless the LLL1 is a generic word, for example:

GOT1.com is worth more than a lot of LLLL.coms
NOT1.com is worth more than a lot of LLLL.coms
QZJ1.com is not worth more than any LLLL.com

OK if you had a company that was a 3L acronym and you could not aquire the pure 3L.com ,would you choose to go for a LLLL with your 3LLL in there with a letter without meaning as part of it or LLL1? The 1 would seem to fit it better than a random meaningless letter IMO. #1.I have also noticed that alot of big websites have what seems to be random numbers as part of there domain name because I guess they either could not aquire the "pure"version or just didnt think it was necessary to aquire it.
Or say a triple premium LLL1 versus some poor to average LLLL's?

It is alot eaiser to find end users for LLL than LLLL

If i were the company, and i could not buy the LLL version, i would look at the L-L-L.com version first :imho:

Well on that note.1 thing that I dislike about L-L-L is that alot of people that are not so computer savvy would have a hard time finding that site as opposed to LLL1 :imho:

Say if you advertised it on a television commercial or in a magazine or on a billboard ,by word of mouth or almost anywhere for that matter.

I agree, if the "LLL" is a generic word. :)

If i had a "nkn" company, "nkn1.com" sounds like "nkn number one".
But in the other hand, it looks like i have different company
("nkn" compared with "nkn1")
Again, the perspective here is i as the "nkn" company owner, not a domainer.
"n-k-n.com" maybe does not look as good as "nkn.com", but i still choose "n-k-n.com" better than "nkn1.com", except, my company name is "nkn1" :imho:

If I ran a company and could not afford the LLL.com version, I would seriously reconsider my business strategy. Most companies should be able to shell out the $xx,xxx it should take to scoop up their LLL.com.

If I could not afford the LLL.com, I would add an "O" at the end. Let's say my company is called BFD (Big Fat Domainers). I don't feel like tying up $30,000 to get BFD.com, so I am going to pursue BFDO.com and get it for $xxx if I'm lucky.

If i could advertise my company in billboard, television, i should have lot of money.
If i still could not buy the LLL.com, I would consider the LLL.net.
And if i still do not have money that much, i will search names such as
  • L-L-L.com
  • LLL-ltd.com
  • LLL-online.com
  • etc

well it's not always about money. what if LLL is another developed site, who do not want to sell their domain? or sell it only together with the company owning it, for like $25 million?

agree with ssamriga and xrvel, repped

for things like WON1.com , things like that are great and brandable :imho:
Holders no doubt

actually would like to see a list of LLL(word)1 availables tbh

BUT

next best to LLL.com is L-L-L.com imho

there are a few choices

L-L-L.com, LLL.net, L-LL.com LL-L.com,

exception is for LLL(words)1 , these are good for brandables :imho:

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question. Whether or not acronyms with a 1 would sell well as I never tried it. It's pretty new territory.

A profit can be made selling just about anything if you work hard enough at it. Posted below are some enduser sales since January of 2008 to inspire you, If I were you I'd register a few and then do a Google search to find some companies to buy those names you think might be easy sales. Good Luck!

AC360.com $12,000 - Sedo
2Games.com $20,000 - Afternic
Casino777.net $20,000 - Sedo
Go3.com $55,000 - Sedo
4X4.co.uk $75,000 Sedo
4X4.fr $232,00 Sedo

PS Report back with your findings. I'd be interested in knowing how you did.

Though not an example of LLL1, the band Disturbed uses http://www.disturbed1.com/ because the original was taken. Just thought I'd point that out.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts, opinions and findings on this subject.I see all your points and they are good ones,I am just trying to see it from the average laymans perspective as well as from the well experienced domainers perspective and get a feel for how everyone views this. After all it is relatively the average Joe or Joan who belongs to most of the target area of vistors one is trying to attract to most sites.I actually asked a friend of mine earlier today if he had a business and couldnt aquire the LLL would he like the L-L-L ,the LLLR(R= random letter) or the LLL1 and his answer was the LLL1.Keep in mind,he knows nothing about domaining(nor is he currently a business owner) and I didnt persuade him in any way,he just didnt like the hyphens or the idea of a letter that doesnt belong. He is the only person I have asked so far,I will ofcourse research this deeper and ask more people.
I know that in the current market of domains that LLL1 probally wouldnt even be cosidered a market, but it just seems to me that maybe it should be.Ofcourse I know that then 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and all those other numbers would then feel left out.It is definitely a tuff subject, just trying to dissect it a little. Thanks again for all the input ,lets keep it rolling.I would love to hear more opinions on this.

I ran a scan for available LLL1.com using the letters abcdefghijklmnoprstuvw and found over half were taken. Having only 4004 available out of 10648 combinations was a surprise because I had expected 3/4 or more to be available.

LLL1.txt

Great list :) I reg'd blo1.com a week or two ago and have it parked at Sedo and it's gotten more views than any of my other names, including my 4L.com I have parked there. No offers mind you, but I definitely think there's potential.

If the LLL is a word, i think it depends on each word.
"1son" is better than "son1".
"1bet" is as good as "bet1" ("one bet" and "bet one" :imho: )
"get1" is better than "1get".
Just spell it, and choose which sounds better :imho:

Thanks for the list. Using all the letters, I calculate 17,656 combinations (26*26*26*1). I have found that 48.47% are available out of these 17,656 using statistical sampling (2.42% margin of error at the 95% confidence level). So that's about 8,558 LLL1's available.
