WIth the high prices being paid for LLL.com including those with bad letters even in bad position like X in the middle (*x*.com) This IMO makes LLL.tv more attractive even with the $500 annual registration fee.

I believe that wholesale LLL.com will soon will be $4000 on sites like 3character.com(which I founded but have since sold my half to Andrew)
SO you can get a quality letter LLL.tv for $500 with all good letters and have 8 years (8 X $500= $4000 low quality LLL.com equivalent) to do something with it by either reselling or developing the domain.

I think it is fair to say quality letter LLL.com are well in the xx,xxx figures and up so that only widens the attractive nature of LLL.tv

LLL.tv in my experience get a little to sometimes decent traffic so you got a little boost to start out.

I would only look at LLL.tv at $500 and there are some deals around either $250 a year and some that Verisign goofed and are regular $50 fee.

Some good available LLL IMO are:

CHI.tv
WON.tv
DDD.tv
SMC.tv only $400
NPR.tv only $250

Do not go crazy if you do invest and this is not a recommendation to buy just an interest area of mine in the .tv extension.

Your spot on Equity!!

I regged a LLL.tv ($500 Premium) that is a generic name with 16,000 OVT and 20+m Google, and it was still available 7 weeks after the May 1 Premium Release - unbelievable.

It takes hours to search through, but there are some excellent names (apart from LLL) still available on the premium list.

Wholesale is already over $4k, and really more in the $5500-$7000 range for BAD letters.

Your point is well taken, and really when you look at it, it's kind of like a payment plan :hehe:

What's WET.COM cost??????????????

I agree. Immediately following the re-release I saw only a small amount of good LLL.tv that were $500 or under. Most of the $50-$300 LLL.tv were real real bad. After reviewing the available LLL.tv for $500 and under, I decided to buy the remaining LLL.TV under $400, I picked up

MCF.TV - $250/yr
ARE.TV $300/yr

Right after that I noticed NPR.TV 250/yr dropped and there was one more for $200 something like WXY.tv.

I just checked and I saw these available:

LCL.tv $250/yr
FCL.tv $250/yr

I think it is a good investment considering the rarity of $250 renewal fees vs $500.

Even for $500/yr if you get a realy good LLL.tv I think it is totally worth it.

Just an afterthought- SMC = Santa Monica College

Nice post Ray :)

Only have 5 three letter .tv's, see.tv for $600, day.tv for $200, yas.tv (yas project in dubai) for $500, fly.tv for $1,000 and ver.tv (see in spanish) for $1,000 a year and see them as long term investments.

Agree with you that the recent attention 3 (and even 4) letter .com's get will help in the sale of 3 letter .tv's.

Good post Ray, i only own 50% of 1 LLL which is UHD.TV .

But i agree that they could turn out to be great investments along with $1K ll.tvs.

Three letters will prosper because they make perfect watermarks due to size of course on videos. The right three letters are highly brandable.

great post. LLL.TV is definitely an interest of mine too.

regarding NPR.tv, I would advise everyone to avoid it. potential WIPO magnet.

[BIG EDIT]

good luck to everyone.

Well Rhee you got lucky with WIN it was avail I had it but there was a delay on the SIX.tv money clearing so I thought with my luck the seller will back out and I was not putting a $1000 into another domain. The domain gets traffic from another site that ran promotions play2win.tv. SEA was another one I mentioned all last year glad someone from here got the domain

Great Thread. 3char names in any major extension is always a hot market. They are rare, easy to remember, easier and cheaper to print advertise and easier to brand on a tv screen corner such as tnt.tv.

I was dissapointed to find that all the 3 char names in tv were actually premiums but as was mentioned here in this thread, it is sort of like a payment plan. I often wonder if you could "buy out" a name to remove the renewal price. I mean if it is possible to contact Demand Media and say you'll pay 8 years premium renewal fee in exchange for them to drop the premium price. This might make names more attractive in the after market.

Even though they arent the best letters, I was still happy to buy MFX.tv off of a member here because this name has no renewal fee. Are there any other non-primium 3 chars out there?

you can contact them and ask them for a discount if you pay 5 to 10 years in advance. they may even reduce the final renewal price. all depends. haven't tried it myself... yet.

WIN.TV is absolutely one of the best three LLLs imo Well done Mr Rhee..

I have a few some I own outright, some I own outright.....

SAX.TV
MIC.TV
VID.TV

Some in partnership

IDO.TV
FIX.TV
IPO.TV

There are a few left that are of somewhat decent quality - not very many though

I'd love to own SEX.TV, the best.

but FIX.TV is amazing. truly competitive to DIY. very nice. that one is begging to be built and monetized. we need to talk. :)

so what are the best 3 LLLs in your opinion?

I wish I could get my hands on: Bet.TV (cybertavern), Fun.TV (cybertavern), Eat.TV, Men.TV, etc...

this is making me think i should hold onto pal.tv for awhile longer- to me, that is the equivilent of myspace in concept- when i got it, i saw all the others, but this one to me shouted perfect social network- and i saw great extension possibilities- beauty.pal.tv, garden.pal.tv, auto.pal.tv, etc....
maybe i will just raise the auction reserve to a stupid amount no one would pay, and they will just pass it on by

PAL is a nice one (plus the whole NTSC vs PAL meaning) and with social networking software readily available and cheap, why not?
