Heck I can even make up some names that could be on the list. How about "Computerizabled"? I could make them up all day long, but no one would use them let alone buy the names.
Sorry. I don't quite understand your rationale. Just because you or I do not use them, just because they are not in your vocabulary, and just because you do not know the meaning of them does not mean they do not exist and are not used by a great multitude of others. Granted, you and I do not use them every day.
Do you want to tell me that Anita Hill did not think that Clarence Thomas was acting very judgelike when she alleged that he sexually accosted her and sexually harassed her in his chambers? That is what the entire Senate confirmation hearings were all about?
And would you go out jacketless of the house if it was 16 degrees out?
I would say any rock climbers would know what these words mean:
jaggeder.com
jaggedest.com
jaggier.com
jaggiest.com
In the politically correct world we live in, this is a new one on me but nevertheless perhaps proper:
janitresses.com
Having worked as an art director and illustrator for many years, these are very common terms used in the furniture and antiques industry:
japanizes.com
japanned.com
Dictionaries and spell checkers are also great for learning new words and improving ones vocabulary.
jargoning.com -- know
hwat it "would" mean, but no one uses it
jargonized.com -- know
hwat it "would" mean, but no one uses it
jargonizing.com -- know
hwat it "would" mean, but no one uses it
Now that I am no longer in the advertising and design field, I chose to go into the medical profession. I assure you that these are common words used daily depending on the patientโs diagnosis and condition:
jaundicing
jejunums
Javelined: Obviously not an Olympic Decathlon or track and field fan
Anyone who does home canning and preserving will know these words;
jellified
jellifying
Jeopardied? Seriously?
Again, being in the medical profession, not at all uncommon to have patients explain their condition using these terms when conducting a history and physical:
jerkier
jerkiest
The above two can also be used to describe our session here: Who is being jerkier and jerkiest?
Ask the Brit hooligans and soccer fans which fans are the worst jeerers and taunters?
Jigglier and jiggliest? Serious? Plenty of sites where this can be visualized.
Jettinsoning? Not a Star Trek fan or sci-fi fan?
Yup, there is more.
The point is, you don't have to reg any of them. What has no meaning to you will have some meaning to others.
Here are two I just regged that are no longer appearing on the list.
ripraps.com
Owning lake front property, the wash and eroding caused by the wake of boats etc. can keep chipping away at your waterfront lot. You may have to pay someone to come in and dump riprap on the property. This is a common term for rock that is quarried from nearby quarries that is of no particular use or value to anyone...too big for gravel, no uniform shape for building or masonry use...just irregular size and shapes. What do I plan on parking it ripraps.com as? Keywords: hip hop rap recording studio burn download
flubdubs.com
Obviously great potential for another version or keyword to direct viewers to funny clips of folks screwing up and making fools of themselves. Keywords: YouTube you tube vid vids video clips
Will I have any success with these? Who knows, it cost me $6.95 to find out.
As for my list; aw, who cares what you and I think. It's there, it's published, they are dictionary words, we don't have to like them, we don't have to use them, we don't have to reg them, we don't even have to know what the words mean. These words obviously have meaning to some, no meaning to others. Different professions, vocations, interests, and how they are used will find some fans of these lists. Granted; words like jeopardy is better than jeopardied or jeopardized but I donโt think we can afford the singular form of the three so there are alternatives. How they are viewed, interpreted, slang or not, developed or not, will be up to the end user.
If you want to take the time to look at words, go to the letter U. Youโll get dizzy.
But, based on the positive feedback I have been getting not only from users on this site and other sites (plus it is free to use which usually makes folks just go googoo and gaagaa over finding out that such things do exist) I'll keep publishing the list.
Besides, the reason I publish it to begin with is I am looking for myself and I can't reg them all. I thought it was a good idea to share.
