This is my first IDN .com domain that i bought - λήψη.com - download in greek

can you appraise it ?

You might want to consider getting the unaccented version ληψη too. Even though the SERPs for ληψη are low compared to λήψη, the searches for the unaccented version appear to be twice that of the accented version.

SERPs:

ληψη 83,900

Adword Search Volume:
λήψη 1300/mo
ληψη 2400/mo

Kinda tough to appraise an idn at this stage, more so a Greek one.

The problem with this one is that it actually means reception, as in tv signal reception, digital file reception etc. It is also used as download along with κατέβασμα which comes closer to the meaning of download. The latter is used more often in everyday speak.

I wouldn't hold my breath expecting something big from it any time soon.

Yanni is a native speaker and I am not, so trust him on this one. I was just pointing out a basic IDN mistake that carries over to other accented languages. While buying the accented version may be grammatically correct, in many cases (including the present case) the unaccented version is what people type into their browser.

When possible I try to get both versions, although that gets expensive, so I only do it for names I really like.

Don't stop at the first mistake, because that may end up being your biggest.

Your reg wasn't that bad after all. I would focus on languages that are more widely spoken than Greek, though. The pickings may be slimmer, but the potential upside is higher.

There's also the after-market.

But definately study your target language and word characteristics here and other idn forums, and try to pick the brains of native domain traders before you invest.
IDN people will always help, like npcomplete did earlier with his sound advice regarding Greek names. You;re already a step ahead from the next guy coming into the game.
