IDN registration fails once and again... (greek character)

Hello

i am trying to reg for the last days a domain that includes the greek character "ο", but the process fails all the time. I've proved with several registars but the result is always the same... please could you advise if anyone of you knows wich could be the reason?

You can not register many "mixed script" domains anymore; however there are some exceptions. For the most part, mixed script domains are worthless. Most that have been registered in the past with purpose of "tricking" buyers into thinking they were Latin domains. SEDO allowed many of these sales and people bid up ridiculous prices, they have since noted IDN on any names that do not contain all latin letters.

Stick to generics in one alphabet, Greek, Chinese, Russian etc and you should be fine.

hello, thanks for your answer. Not sure of understanding what you mean with mixed script domains, do you mean names with idn characters and not idn characters? Is it not allowed any longer? do not understand...

btw, its clear that most of them are worthless, but i just wanted to reg one for personal purposes and i was surprised that all the registrars i tried refused the registration

Does the Greek Domain you are trying to register contain only greek characters before the dot?

no, all the letters are not in greek... so i should asume it is not possible to register only all-letters greek domains? thanks

If you have all Greek letters, no spaces (or put in hyphen) you should be fine to register.

pm me the word if you want and I will give it a try at a couple of idn registrars.
