Links in signature

Probably been asked before.
I tried Q&A and search but could not find it. I saw you have to do it at edit signature/profile.
I tried different ways using www and http:// but found no way of making links to some websites in my signature(except somehow in my first two/three posts).Just plain text.

like all other vb forums it uses bulletin board code (bb) codes
