The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
Name.com all the way, they are the best in my opinion. Didn't hear of hover.com until now to be honest.

Any poll that mentions 1&1 as being a contender for 'quality', even (egad) as almost top-5 contender, and 'fantastic customer support' is a totally worthless poll. IMO.

Honorable mentions this week go out to 1&1 Internet, which many of you praised for its great prices, fantastic customer support, and easy sign-up

I don't think this poll is created by domainers or even anyone who knows 2 or 3 things about domain registrars.

What a joke of a post by an uniformed shit head of a journalist.

Register.biz, internet.bs enom, dyndadot.

The missed most of the tier one price competitive registrars.

Don't blame the journalist in this case, lol.

The nominees were gathered from the readers comments from last weeks article after the godaddy outage, so its probably biased against godaddy explaining why they didn't show up on the list.

And yes, GoDaddy would be in my personal top 5.

Just bear in mind the world doesn't revolve around domainers, the demographic involved in this case are Lifehacker readers.

Another stupid article on the internet. Leave out the biggest, GoDaddy and actually have some I've never heard of and then Dreamhost, which is known for crappy shared hosting.

btw, if Namecheap wins the poll, they'll release a 99cent promo

In my opinion, Godaddy is the best registrar out at the moment. Their website is easy to use, great pricing, and great customer service. Every time I've called, I've been able to reach a rep almost instantly and had my problem solved quickly.

Note that (currently) Hover is the top choice in that article, and that's despite their prices. Goes to show that people are indeed willing to pay extra, after all.

Then again, I also guess that - historically - people are willing to pay more as long as they get value. Heh.

I say, early next year, Jan or Feb, have a Best Of 2012 NamePros polls, one of them being favorite registrar. Have nominations for a couple of weeks, then voting for a couple of weeks. When affiliates had it, GD won easily. let's see who domainers would pick.

In general one should use registrars for domain names, not webhosts. Even if they are true registrars and not just resellers.
