I am going to run some websites about holidays, what is the legality of saying it is official? For example: the domain may be xmasofficialholidaysite.com - is there any laws etc. that ban the use of saying a holiday site is official?

There are no legal restrictions that I know of, but you might catch some PR flak for doing so...
