Was just checking out Namebio and saw this sale today - ledtv.com - $3,000

For a generic product that gets 201,000 exact match and usually costs upper hundreds/thousands.

Congrats to the buyer if that is in fact the correct price because that's one helluva steal to me. Seems a little low doesn't it?

can't be. if it really sold for that, the seller must be very very sad and the buyer must be incredibly happy right now.
how come not a single domainer with 3k+ cash saw that name for sale anywhere?

It happens. A lot of times, those names may not sit there for very long before being snapped up. That said, Sedo is a big mass of mostly crap that it takes a lot to usually find such gems anyways.

On more than one occasion, I've gotten domains for $500 or less on Afternic that I resold for $5,000+. There's bargains everywhere if you look hard enough.

According to Namebio iLED.com also sold for $10k within a few days of the ledtv.com sale.

Interestingly, I have also received low $xx,xxx interest in the domain LED.INF0. But still waiting for the right offer.

Also, I don't trust namebio.com, one of the domains I sold in a domain + cash trade is reported by them as selling for only certain amount of cash, it fails to mention I also received a domain in exchange.

I don't think $3,000 was a huge deal right now. More surprising to me is that it was sold now and not down the road when LED TVs are getting more hype. Maybe the seller didn't think that was going to happen anytime soon.

What I love is when NameBio reports a sale took place on 9/7/2010, yet the whois for that domain says last updated on 1/3/2010. I've noticed that many times.

You've got to check for that sort of thing also if the reported sale is an influencing factor in your own pricing.

I would never let that go for $3K right now. I don't care how bad the economy is.

Interesting anomaly, perhaps the buyer/seller had some kind of agreement by which multiple payments were made over a longer period of time. Or perhaps they both used a hidden whois. So no change in whois showed up.
